Emerging from my winter hibernation to share this sweet zine in collaboration with @abacusrow for Year of the Fire Horse 🐎 Ăn Tết, Issue 2 is a collection of Lunar New Year food recipes and stories from Abacus Row’s Asian diasporic creative community. 🤲🏼❤️ a documentation of my creative journey in music curation. reminding myself to zoom out and share my process. to pause and celebrate all that I have dreamed to life in the last three years. to express my deepest gratitude to everyone who brought up my name in the right room, everyone who believed in me, everyone who showed up and loved me unconditionally early mornings to scout locations, late nights with meager sleep, 3am breakdowns in my parked car, receiving calls and texts reminding me how loved I am, warm hugs and hearts, fated connections, forgetting power equipment and getting saved last minute by kind people. feeling unsure, bliss, nervousness, ringing ears. fleeting love, forever love, listening carefully. details, overstimulation, using shazam, snacks in the dark. there are so many people, wondering where I fit, knowing I don’t, and creating from scratch. earplugs, grieving, endless discovery, navigating illness, healing. so much crying, and determination, losing my voice, finding it, saying yes, saying no. learning, trying again, harder and harder, then softer, experimenting, dreaming, the dreams of my highest desires, flying, and soaring through every sky

I curated a set of viet music for viet elders to dance to!! for a special dance workshop organized and led by @johnny.huy.nguyen and @radiotruc at @healingwellsf <3 nhảy nhẹ means to dance gently… dancing gently to songs that awaken deep memories, dancing gently to reach into our collective freedom, dancing gently to breathe in joy, dancing gently to remember how intertwined our lives are. reflecting on how grateful I am to create with viet artists + friends, how grateful I am to be part of this Life’s experience, how grateful I am to give to the world in a way that heals and connects. somewhere on a patch of earth, I get to play songs for us! 🕊️

🌱🌸🐝 MEET THE APPRENTICES 🐝 🌸🌱 we have an incredibly cool interesting smart funny + inspiring cohort of apprentices this year, and we feel so lucky to grow alongside them thru these next seasons 🌀 — I’m Kat Lê, a Viet creative and Earth lover! This year, I began my apprenticeship at Alemany Farm and am blessed to be on this path of service. For me, tending to the farm is a devotion to life force. A practice of care and reciprocity with the land that sustains us. A thread to ancestral memory. A well of joy in nurturing one another. I am grateful to be here, to cultivate food alongside so many incredible beings, to learn and grow with curiosity. I return my life to source, to the elements, to the cycles of nature that have nourished us deeply and endlessly.
