Another set from my ongoing series documenting my grandparents. Papa y Yeya.
It made me happy to see that they added a sign in the kitchen that reads “Los Cabreras est. 1959” to commemorate the year they were married and yeya gave me the best / longest cosquis as always.
Was in Miami last month and got to spend some more time with Papa y Yeya who are both about to be 90.
This personal work feels so precious. I’m grateful for every moment I get to spend with them.
I spent my entire life checking my fade in that bathroom mirror.
More from my ongoing series documenting Papa y Yeya.
They were positive for COVID during Noche Buena / Christmas but luckily tested negative on the day I was coming back to New York.
I went to see them before going to the airport and was happy to see them in high spirits.
Papa put on a full Yankees fit for my send off and told me after July he’ll be the oldest ever living Cabrera.
Yeya showed me all her Christmas decorations and party hat she was gonna wear for New Year’s 😂🥰.
A fly on the wall sometime last year in the studio and at dinner with legends as they worked on their projects for Mass Appeal’s “Legend Has It”.

I used to spend a lot of time back home biking around. I’m glad some photos from then made their way into “Literally Everyone’s Invited: An Ode to South Florida” alongside work from so many amazing photographers from The 305.
Photos made between 2015 and 2018.
Thanks to @gesischilling for including me.

@lukecombs in studio for the latest cover of @gq Hype.
This was my first time working with a country artist. I knew we were gonna vibe as soon as he requested 50 Cents “Get Rich or Die Trying”. He also rolled up with the best watch collection I’ve ever seen.
Went to Gainesville to shoot the @mitchellandness x @gatorade capsule for Gatorades’s 60th birthday.
Featuring: @stevespurrieruf , @boogieee and @emjaefrazier .
Gatorade was invented in 1965 in Gainesville, the following year Steve Spurrier won The Heisman Trophy as the QB of the Florida Gators. That season he also somehow made a 40 yard field goal to beat Auburn in the last seconds of a game. He would later go on to coach the Gators for 12 seasons.
I wanted to photograph him with his name over his shoulder on the stadium and he thought the exact spot where he kicked that field goal would be perfect, he was right. - slide 2
