The country star has multiple songs on Billboardās Hot 100, and in March he broke the attendance record at Las Vegasās Allegiant Stadium, drawing more fans than the 2024 Super Bowl. In other words, heās living the dream.
At the same time, Combs carries a distinct everyman vibe. Itās hard not to be charmed by it, and it helps that he looks the part. With a thick beard and a loyalty to baseball caps and Columbia Sportswear fishing shirts, heās unpretentious in his aesthetic choices, and heās been open about his struggles with body image and mental health in a way that only makes him more relatable.
Combās assessment of his own appeal is simple: āI think the thing that maybe people like about me is that Iām not that interesting.ā
In August last year, Combs became the first country artist to have two songs surpass the 1 billion streams mark on Spotify. āStreaming has changed the game for all music,ā he says. āIt puts the power in the fansā handsāthey make the singles now and they decide whatās popular.ā
