Season 1997 EP.1 - Before it was ECKO UNLTD it was Echo Unlimited by Marc Ecko. @beingmarcecko Here’s a snip to the past of true authenticity and runway. MC, BeatBoxing, fashion.
More snips coming, tune in.
Marc Ecko started streetwear in the early ’90s, but by Fall 1997 Ecko Unltd was already hitting the runway, marking one of the earliest moments when streetwear crossed into formal fashion presentations. Through the late ’90s, his shows leaned heavily into hip-hop culture, graffiti, and oversized silhouettes—way ahead of the luxury world catching on.
In 2003, Ecko Pulled Up To The Macy’s Parade With A Whole Rhino Float!

Today marks the 20th anniversary of the “Marc Eckō’s Getting up Festival”
Back in August 2005, Toronto’s Polson Pier became the epicenter of hip-hop culture when Marc Ecko’s ‘Getting Up’ Festival took over for two unforgettable days. The lineup was stacked — Kanye West, Nas, Ludacris, Busta Rhymes, Ciara, Lil Jon & The East Side Boyz, Kardinal Offishall, Fat Joe, Brooke Valentine, and more — all bringing the heat. But it wasn’t just about the music: graffiti art battles, breakdancing competitions, sneaker showcases, street fashion, and car shows turned the docks into a living, breathing celebration of urban culture. 20 years later, we still remember the vibes, the style, and the sounds that defined an era. #MarcEcko #GettingUpFestival #HipHopHistory #TorontoMusicHistory #KanyeWest #Nas #Ludacris #BustaRhymes #Ciara #StreetCulture #2005Throwback
This was the absolute highlight of @complexcon 2024, for me. My two long lost “Brothers in Airbrush” (from other mothers), @shirtkingphade and @misterctoons had a proper huddle. For the record, there is NO ME, without them. 💯 Hey @airbrushaction , can we do a special edition issue!? Maybe @complex can assist? 🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻 Internet. Discuss amongst yourselves? #paasche #iwata #createx #badgerspectratex #vallejo #wickedcolors . God is Good. 🙏🏻❤️
