A little throwback to some key stills I designed last year for an animated video for Sequential — a B2B platform providing human clinical testing, biomarker discovery, and next-generation formulations powered by world-leading multi-omics technology.
Not the easiest subject to visualize, but that’s part of the fun 😅
The actual animated video was brought to life by Rhys Votano, while what you see here are my recent Jitter (@jitter.video ) motion experiments — just an excuse to play with new tools 🧸. My motion eye still has room to grow, but hey, everyone starts somewhere.
If you’ve been following my work for a while, you might remember Sequential since we worked together back when they were a B2C skincare brand. They’ve evolved a lot since then. This time, the design wasn’t about rebranding from scratch, but rather trusting my instincts: drawing on what I already knew about them and translating that into a business-oriented approach.
I really loved the outcome (and happily, so did they!), enough that these stills shaped their design direction going forward.
Now they’ve just raised $3.5M — can’t hide how proud I am of the work we did together 🥰

Some time ago, while designing visuals for my father, an upholsterer, I started experimenting with a thread and a home scanner to see what would come out.
I was mesmerized by the results—the natural signs, the shapes you could see in them.
I haven’t used them (yet) for upholstery, but I felt a strong connection to a theme very close to me: memory. The phrase came along by itself: “Ho perso il filo” // “I’ve lost the thread.”
I recently refound the scans and thought they could be a lovely addition to my studio as a poster or a series.

When I designed this poster, I was working on a different series using parentheses to illustrate concepts—I loved the idea of using type to illustrate, but also the subtlety that comes with parentheses, the inexplicit, the unobvious. The connection with the kindness theme felt natural, though I wasn't sure I'd make it in time since it's ""kind of"" time-consuming to add each parenthesis by hand... (I know, I want all the fun for myself.)
So, the idea behind this poster is to celebrate a specific type of kindness—the one living in the parentheses of daily life, in silent gestures of empathy that blossom completely unexpectedly. We often forget to be present for those little things between the lines that make all the difference, so natural they don't even need words. Those are the gifts I love most— the ones that ask nothing in return, yet change everything, nourishing your day. 🌺

I’ve found this experiment from back in 2023. I was working on the IBNY5 identity and playing around with gradients, textures, and noise: super nice treatments that back then were too time-consuming and not that versatile.
In the end, I went in another direction, yet with all the tools we have now, I can’t help but wonder how it might have turned out.
Perhaps it’s not such a bad time to be a designer (if only that anxiety about what comes next could disappear 🫠)

Last year, @omse.co organized an exhibition titled 'Time is Running Out,' which sought to challenge our consumption habits, including our perception of time, while emphasizing the urgent need to limit global warming to 1.5 degrees Celsius within six years.
These were my designs for the clock face. I focused a lot on the seemingly insignificant yet profoundly impactful number 1.5.
Unfortunately, they weren't selected - puah puah puah puah! - but nonetheless, it remains crucial to keep the attention high.
