Open Studio: Pui Yan Fong
January 23rd & 24th (Fri & Sat), 2–7 PM Join us for a viewing of works created during my residency at CRASH and @interval_in . I will be presenting material studies, moulds, and a small installation from my ongoing project ‘Butcher’s Table’, an audiovisual installation that reimagines a wet-market stall as a metaphor for emotional vulnerability. Inspired by the Cantonese phrase 攤牌 (tan pai)—to lay one’s cards on the table—the work treats honesty as a form of dissection, laying inner worlds bare like butchered parts. Visitors are invited on a textural journey: to squeeze, feel, and caress the ‘fishes’ casted in different materials. The installation will also feature an audio piece developed during @guiaexperimental Fest 2025 in Macau. 📍 CRASH

Followed by our last post, our studio managers, Shawn and Karie’s work were also selected in this exhibition, “Cabinet of Curiosities for the 21st Century”, blending in with the modern classic interior at Hanart Forum. Again, heartfelt thanks to Dr. Michael Whittle for such a celebrative occasion. @shawnzytph @karietsui

A small side hustle done by one of our studiomate, Sofie Leung. It was commissioned by Michael Whittle for his collection-exhibition “Cabinet of curiosities for the 21st century” and exhibited privately in Hanart Forum. The metal stand is specifically designed and fabricated to accommodate a disc of petrified wood, attributed with moving fittings. As a collective studio, not to mention we value room for our studiomates to thrive with their techniques-accommodating their needs, we welcome and support different formats of collaboration in terms of installation, sculptural fabrication. Today also marks our 2nd anniversary of opening our studio in Kwai Chung Hong Kong. @wetzdaan

Open Call for studio residents 2025-2026 Very soon, our studio will be stepping into its third year as a collective space for young artists. 2025 has been a full and exciting year for us, as we continue developing our multiple identities. While we prioritise artistic production — particularly involving technical skills in metal, wood, casting, and moulding — we see our studio not just as a workshop, but also as a space that expands into other formats, including exhibitions and collaborations with fellow art practitioners. As part of our annual tradition, we’re launching an open call to welcome new studio residents(ONLY for HK young artists) for the upcoming 2025–2026 cycle. We’re looking for young, ambitious artists with a strong interest in installation and three-dimensional work. Our studio offers a fully equipped workspace at a very low rent. Regardless of your prior experience with tools or machines, we’re happy to offer guidance and support as you explore and develop your material-based practice. If you’re interested, check out our bio for more information about our initiatives and available equipment — and don’t hesitate to reach out via inbox!

interval:in studio residents 2024-2025 Lynna Lam @as.sleepyfish Lynna Lam Shan (b.1999, based in Hong Kong) Lam’s practice involves observations that extend beyond the subject itself, searching to establish connections and order in space. Her work often originates from written texts and listening experiences. By collecting fragments, the medium adapts to the conceptual framework, spanning from drawings, installations, and digital-based works. In the pursuit of explorations, she examines both similarities and differences, observing their nature in parallel. Mind and memory, urban city and nature, collectives and individuals—she often seeks to transcend the boundaries between contrasting pairs. The complexities of entanglement are often curious to deconstruct. Geometry, anthropology, semantics, and perception are her fields of interest. 1 Loops 2024 Cassette tape loops, filter paper, LED tube, sounds (1 minute and 1 minute 30 seconds; continuous play) Dimension variable 2 Index 2024 Charcoal powder, resin, spray, stepper motor Dimension variable
