Cork schools cut energy use by 70,786 kWh through student-led climate action.
Ten secondary schools in Cork have reduced their combined energy use by 70,786 kWh and cut 30.08 tonnes of CO₂ emissions during a 12-week energy reduction competition delivered under the #interregNPA HYBES project.
HYBES is a European project led by @nforsk with @corkcountycouncil , @universitycollegecork NCEinsulation together with partners from Norway, Iceland, Sweden and the Faroe Islands as part of the Interreg Northern Periphery and Arctic programme.

The #InterregNPA 6th Call closed with a record 33 applications competing for EUR 10 million in funding.
Assessment is now underway. The final project selection will be carried out by the Monitoring Committee at its meeting in the Faroe Islands on 3 June 2026.
