As part of the N-LITE project, our partners at KAMK – Kajaani University of Applied Sciences – are leading the development of a series of game experiences, each inspired by a different partner region.
Their goal is to build virtual worlds that feel grounded in reality; places shaped by real environments, people, and cultures. From traditional clothing to everyday interiors, these details don’t just fill the background, they help tell the story.
The process begins with real-world references: a room might be recreated in 3D based on photos and measurements, while clothing is modelled using digital sewing patterns drawn from actual garments. This approach ensures everything from layout to fabric movement feels authentic and intentional.
By weaving in these real-life elements, KAMK is creating game experiences that are layered, meaningful, and deeply rooted in place, bringing the vision of N-LITE to life, one detail at a time.
