So proud to be hosting this powerful exhibition. Opening night was incredible—a full house of Latinx energy, love, and community. Nosotros También Somos América / We Are America, Too This show—curated by Katunemo Art & Healing, an art collective that supports immigrant artists—uplifts immigrant voices through art as a tool for resistance, healing, and celebration. In a context where American identity is often reduced to narrow narratives, We Are America, Too acknowledges a more expansive and inclusive truth. The exhibition honors the contributions of immigrant communities to this country’s history, reclaiming the spirit of welcome inscribed on the Statue of Liberty and recognizing migration as a universal human experience—one as old as humanity itself. Through powerful works that reflect resilience, joy, pain, and creative strategy, artists from different countries offer an intimate and collective reflection on what it means to belong. Aimed at global majority communities seeking representation, young people exploring their roots, educators, community leaders, and the broader public, this exhibition invites active participation: sharing stories, joining community programs, supporting immigrant artists, and advocating for truly inclusive cultural representation. Kailey and Naomi, two independent artists, embarked on a collaboration that has not only resulted in a stunning exhibition at Arrowmont School of Arts and Crafts but also inspired new directions in their individual practices. Their @walkawayhouse residency at Installation Space has become a hub of inspiration, where they share a studio for experimenting and expanding on techniques used in their collaborative show. Kailey continues to explore the relationships between mass-produced items and a home’s structural surroundings, using found materials to create paintings and sculptures. Naomi mainly focuses on work inspired by the objects she remembers from her past, using traditional woodworking techniques. She has been experimenting with different light fixtures informed by those familiar objects. Join us August 30th from 5-8pm and check out their amazing work! #artistresidency #northadamsma
