Recently unwrapped my brand new copy of Rough Magic by @roomfulofteeth —currently nominated for *2* freakin’ Grammy’s 😮 . I’m still so stunned that I got to collaborate with this creative powerhouse crew. Shoutout to @brocklefferts for the incredible design and layout and @newammusic for the beautiful printing/pressing . . . . #roomfulofteeth #newamsterdamrecords #roughmagic #newmusic #vinyl #grammys2023 #contemporarymusic #voice #vocal #shakespeare #thetempest #caliban #polaroid #albumart #albumarrwork #experimental #experimentalmusic #grammys

macro footage of what cooking a vintage polaroid looks like in real time 👀🐙 . the first time I saw this effect I knew I had to share it with someone. It was so strange and unnervingly beautiful to see this flat, still piece of media become animated and dimensional, and to watch this little slice of forgotten memory unravel in front of me. . . . #polaroid #emulsion #analog #magic #ifyouhigh #dissolve #chemistry #film

Back in 2014 @umstamps I started exploring how to chemically alter silver-based photos in volcanic hot springs for my MFA. I traveled to geothermal hot spots around the world and immersed this series of simple self portraits into different mud pots, springs, and fumaroles and based on the chemical makeup of the location, the temperature, and acidity, each photo would redevelop differently, no two ever the same. I’m so excited to announce that after almost 10 years I’m finally returning to this idea in collaboration with Williams College geoscience professor Mike Hudak, who last year was awarded a National Science Foundation grant to analyze volcanic gases trapped in rocks from the deepest roots of volcanic systems. I’m honored to share this article that Williams College just published about us (link in bio) for those who’d like to know more. BIG shoutout to fellow Williams geosciences professor @phoebefossil who introduced us two volcano nerds in the first place 😛 Lastly, I’m continually grateful to my former professor and friend @diloreto.romeo , who gave me the original idea that inspired this project, and whose generosity and enthusiasm knows no bounds 🎞️🤍 @williamscollege #artandscience #hotspring #thermophile

I’m so thrilled have a number of pieces in this powerful group exhibition @elijah_wheat_showroom and to show with such a remarkable lineup of artists. Below is Carolina Wheat’s highly pertinent and moving press release for the show, I highly recommend reading. I’m so proud to be a small part of this vision 🖤 Unfixxxed: A Group Photo Show About Impermanence @elijah_wheat_showroom Opening: Sat Oct 25 | 4-8 PM Runs through Dec. 15, 2025 Artists’ works included are: Alex Yudzon Ana Mendieta Azikiwe Mohammed Ghost of a Dream Gordon Matta-Clark Heather Renèe Russ Jackie Furtado Johannah Herr Jon Verney Lauren Silberman Liz Nielsen Marlos E’van Michal Rovner Shirin Neshat Tianyi Zhang Young Sun Han Amongst this daunting national crisis, we are brought together in-person again to examine our relationship to image making with the hopes to find comfort in that which we already know: The only constant is change. Impermanence of our lifetimes on Earth, our fleeting joys, as we contemplate the polarities. Such as, the joys of experiencing pleasure, only if we’ve already known pain. We are brought to the space to acknowledge our rage, our anger, our duty to stand-up in the face of prescribed fear mongering. The spirit of art shifts too, with the powers-that-be. Someone recently shared an idea with me. This has spurred the foundation of thought towards this photo exhibition about impermanence: In a Theocracy, art is a reliquary. In a Capitalist society, art is a commodity. In an Authoritarian society, art is propaganda. Using the gallery platform for activism, Elijah Wheat cheers the intellects, the critical thinkers, the breadth of creatives doing what they know best to resist a political nightmare. We engage what we can to encourage conversations and transformation, and to build a thriving Resistance.

Tonight:: I’m psyched to be showing a new video piece tonight with @farmprojects PROJECT PROJECT in beautiful Wellfleet, MA. I accidentally damaged my phone’s camera recently, but now it shoots video with a delightfully glitchy sensor, and I decided to make an ambient portrait of summer with it. More info below and in the third slide ✨ Shot with a camera with a damaged sensor, Sunspot is a visual field recording of summer heat. Glitched-out visuals trace an atmospheric road-trip through the New England landscape, wildfire haze, and the pursuit of cooling off

I’ve been on the move a lot the last few years, bouncing back and forth between the US and Europe. Durning all that travel my sketchbooks became like mobile studios of sorts; places to collect and compile fragments of ideas and materials, and let the density of layers build up until they’re ready to burst and I’d need to rebind them. I’ve never really exhibited these books before. They’re normally private, intuitive and compulsive meditations on my days and experiences, but as their energy inspired the rest of the show, it felt fitting to include a recent selection of them. #sketchbook #artistsketchbook #journals #installationspace #collage

Today’s the last day to catch the North Adams group show at @mixedmedia.space It was such a joy to collaborate with @jonverney on our interactive piece — more of that coming soon. So grateful to have been part of such a special show alongside so many talented local artists. Huge thanks to Ivan and Sonja for putting it all together and creating space for this kind of magic. #northadams #mixedmediaspace #installationart #localartists #collaboration #interactiveart #northadamsma
