Explores how Japanese pop culture intersects with military imagery, influenced by works like Kancolle. It highlights the feminization of weapons and recurring โrescueโ narratives shaped by the male gaze. The work visualizes how these dynamics affect perceptions of women and violence.

๐๐๐๐๐ข๐๐ ๐๐๐ by ๐ก๐ถ๐ป๐ฎ ๐๐ฎ๐๐ถ๐ฒ๐โจExamines the growing use of predictive technologies across everyday systems like finance, law, and social media. While some rely on solid data, others operate more speculatively. It questions the reliability of systems designed to predict the future.

Uses generative AI to create game-like scenes without a traditional engine. Built from short clips, it reveals both the influence of training data and the limitations of AI through glitches and unexpected details. The work sits between simulation, fiction, and technical constraint.

In her exhibition ๐ผ๐๐๐๐ ๐๐ฆ๐๐๐๐๐ , ๐ก๐ถ๐ป๐ฎ ๐๐ฎ๐๐ถ๐ฒ๐ dramatizes the breakdown of boundaries between human and machine, reframing the politics of visual representation. In this world, images are not just seen โ they are identities to conform to and realities to adhere to. They open spaces for communication with algorithmic forces that reside in opaque black boxes, where glitches are no longer errors but can be interpreted as languages and forms of expression.

๐ก๐ถ๐ป๐ฎ ๐๐ฎ๐๐ถ๐ฒ๐ speculates on a near-future where synthetic images not only structure visual culture but begin to dictate how bodies move, behave, and express themselves. Drawing on contemporary online phenomena โ particularly TikTok trends where users mimic uncanny, AI-generated dance videos โ the artist imagines a world in which people internalise machine logic, choreographing themselves to match computational aesthetics and the properties of generative AI imagery.

๐ก๐ถ๐ป๐ฎ ๐๐ฎ๐๐ถ๐ฒ๐, a British-Canadian artist and choreographer, examines how early image-making technologies, originally invented for scientific purposes, came to be adopted as tools for storytelling, and traces how these storytelling logics have seeped into courtrooms and other high-stakes environments. Images can synchronise with reality so convincingly that we treat them as faithful reflections of events, yet techniques like slow motion can subtly distort what we see โ implying, for example, that a person had more time to act than they actually did, a distortion that can influence judgments of guilt or innocence.

Meet Nina Davies ๐
๐ Over the past year, artist Nina Davies (@influential_bro ) has worked with Eve, Luke, and Mel โ three young people from the Liverpool City Region who access support from The Clatterbridge Cancer Centre NHS Foundation Trust โ to produce a new artwork titled MEET ME IN THE DIGITAL TWIN. Blurring the lines between fact and fiction, they created a podcast and film that unfolds like a sci-fi documentary, transforming the gallery into an extension of their immersive future world.

A glimpse of ๐๐ฐ๐ฏ๐ต๐ข๐ค๐ต๐ช๐ฏ๐จ ๐๐ฎ๐ข๐จ๐ฆ ๐๐ฐ๐ณ๐ญ๐ฅ๐ด, an upcoming performance by Nina Daviesโshown here in its first iteration at @future_gallery in Berlin.
Extending the narrative world of her solo exhibition, the performance unfolds as a fictional gathering of Image Syncers. Four dancers perform AI-inspired gestures through analogue techniques, simulating generated footage with the body and collapsing distinctions between human and synthetic movement.
Live performances takes place Jan 16, 17, 23, and 24, 2026. Reserve your free ticket nowโspaces are limited and are going fast.

Western Front is pleased to present a performance by Nina Davies in the form of an open rehearsal by the fictional Image Syncers. The performance extends Daviesโ exhibition, which centres on a video narrated through an episode of an invented podcast ๐๐ฉ๐ข๐ตโ๐ด ๐๐ช๐ป๐ป๐ญ๐ช๐ฏโ. In the episode, investigative journalist Teagan Carroll recounts her first encounter with an Image Syncer community at the Trio Comms Hall; a moment the live performance restages.
The performance begins with a Twitch-style livestream, where a workplace vlogger from Wifi Vision hosts a wagerโโbot or not.โ The game unravels when the movement data being discussed is revealed to belong to the Image Syncers themselves, and the caller is exposed as a fully autonomous AI.
This moment becomes a long-awaited point of contact, initiating an Image Synching sรฉance and the start of a rehearsal. Guests may enter the spaceโcamouflaged in provided ceremonial garmentsโor observe from adjacent rooms, witnessing the performance through ring lights and phones that echo the dancersโ networked connection to AI systems.
The work is performed by Torien Cafferata, Kevyn Hu, Rebecca Margolick, and Simran Sachar.

At the centre of Nina Davies' upcoming exhibition ๐๐ฎ๐ข๐จ๐ฆ ๐๐บ๐ฏ๐ค๐ฆ๐ณ๐ด, is a 12-minute video framed as an episode of the fictional podcast ๐๐ฉ๐ข๐ตโ๐ด ๐๐ช๐ป๐ป๐ญ๐ช๐ฏโ.
Host Bryce Snyder interviews journalist Teagan Carroll about her exposรฉ on a break-in at the Trutch Seed Bank. As Carroll reveals, the group responsibleโknown as Plot Corpsโphysically reproduced AI-generated imagery to evade detection.
The conversation unfolds into reflections on โperception-collapse,โ โimage syncing,โ and the evolving relationships between language, images, and bodies, in a world shaped by synthetic media.
On view from Jan 10, 2026.
