We are delighted to announce that a third ARVR Africa Lab outside Nigeria has found a home in Dakar, Senegal as a result of our partnership with Université Chiekh Anta Diop (UCAD) @universite_cheikh_anta_diop
The launch event for the ARVR Africa Dakar Lab took place on September 10, 2024. In attendance were members of the Imisi 3D team including Judith Okonkwo @jay.oaks (Founder, Imisi 3D|Convener ARVR Africa) and our host Professor Idrissa Sarr and members from the CURI Centre Universitaire de Recherche et d’Innovation (CURI) de UCAD Senegal. In addition to the launch, there was a lineup of workshops to get things started.
This XR lab will unlock a world of immersive possibilities for students and faculty at UCAD; particularly those keen on research and development, and keen to make an impact and solve real-world problems with extended reality. It is also a reflection of our unwavering commitment to empower XR talent across the continent, and we could not be more thrilled that this promise is being realised in Dakar.
Once again, we are reminded about the power of partnership and extend our heartfelt gratitude to UCAD, Senegal for collaborating with us to bring this shared vision to life.
