🙏 Thank you, #Ethiopia 🇪🇹, for recognizing our hard work!
Despite facing numerous difficulties and challenges, we have sustained our five-year journey to make Ethiopia among forefront African industry players in #XR technology research and development. While some doubted us, many supported us and helped us reach this milestone!
Yesterday, at the prestigious #National #Science, #Technology, and #Innovation Awards held at the Science Museum, @guzotech ጉዞ ቴክኖሎጂስ was honored as a winner in the ‘Excellence in Science, Technology, and Innovation’ category. What does it mean to design for a future that is both creative and sustainable?
At ‘A Seat at the Table of Change’, artists, designers, technologists and cultural leaders came together to explore how creativity can respond to some of the most urgent questions of our time. From circular fashion and environmentally conscious design to the evolving role of digital aesthetics, the discussion examined how creative practice can move beyond expression to become a driver of responsible change.
Across the conversation, one idea stood out: sustainability in the creative industries is not only about materials or production processes. It is also about mindset, how we design systems, rethink value, and imagine new ways for culture, technology and the environment to coexist.
As the creative economy continues to grow, these conversations matter more than ever. They challenge us to reconsider how things are made, how stories are told, and how creativity can contribute to a more sustainable world.
Watch the highlights and join the conversation:
What does sustainability mean in your creative practice?

We Are Presenting at Cumulus South Africa Conference, taking place from 25 - 28 November 2025 at the University of Johannesburg
Excited to share that #TechStitched #XR has been selected for presentation at Cumulus Conference 2025, one of the world’s leading global gatherings for #design, #technology, and #creative #innovation.
Alongside Farai Bayai Ncube, I will be presenting our paper, TechStitched XR: Immersive and AI Technologies for Sustainable, Culturally Grounded African Fashion in the Metaverse
This project is more than innovation! it’s a commitment to preserving African heritage, empowering designers, and redefining how culture, sustainability, and digital creativity intersect in the emerging #metaverse.
From CGI-driven garment reconstruction, #AI-assisted cultural preservation, and 3D fashion pipelines to immersive #XR showcases, TechStitched XR demonstrates the future of African fashion storytelling on global digital stages.
Huge appreciation to the @britishcouncil for continuously supporting African-led innovation and to everyone who has contributed to shaping this project.
We’re looking forward to representing #Ethiopia 🇪🇹 and #Africa at the global level once again bringing our stories, our creativity, and our vision for the future of #digital #fashion to Cumulus 2025.

A story that shook me… and reminded me why #technology must serve humanity!
I recently came across an unbelievable project called “Sweetie.” A digitally generated 10-year-old Filipino girl, designed to look real enough to lure online child-sexual predators.
She wasn’t human
She was 3D. Controlled by investigators.
But the people interacting with her believed she was real. 😉
Immersive tech is not just entertainment, it can be a weapon of justice!
As someone working in #XR + #AI, this story felt like a wake-up call, a reminder that the tools we build can confront real-world horrors.
Thanks @reblium for the generative character tech, I’m witnessing another milestone!
Sometimes, it’s words like these that keep me and my team inspired to push forward and make our country’s name shine proudly in the tech sector!
This recognition means a lot, it represents years of dedication and persistence. When few believed in what we were building, when early setbacks and small tractions seemed discouraging, only a handful with the right vision and resources trusted us. They helped elevate our work not just locally, but onto some of the biggest stages in the world.
To those who doubted us and waited to see us fail, we celebrate our successes every day as proof of what #Ethiopia can innovate! And to those who supported us, thank you for standing by us!
Special thanks to @livetraces (Rasheeda Nalumoso) for the kind words and the incredible presentation!
From the hands that laid the first stone,
to the minds that designed each pillar,
to the shoulders that bore its weight through sun and storm..
This victory belongs to you! Congratulations #Ethiopia 🇪🇹
#Ethiopia was not only represented by #fashion at the Africa Fashion Week London 2025, but also through an #immersive #experience bringing the work of 15 #African designers into the #metaverse.
This event showed us how African talent can be at the frontier of technology solutions, not just participating, but leading.
We also had the chance to meet key stakeholders in the fashion industry and identify critical gaps that require digital innovation.
At Guzo Technologies ጉዞ ቴክኖሎጂስ, our team is ready to design and deliver the next iteration of solutions tailored for the African fashion industry.
This isn’t just fashion. This is the future of culture, innovation, and storytelling.
#Sometimes, you need to hit pause and look back not to dwell, but to understand. Without those shake-up moments, we risk settling into comfort, mistaking stagnation for stability.
A few months ago, we were unexpectedly asked to move out of our old office due to a city-wide development project requirements. The building was getting a major renovation, and the timing was tight. It caught us off guard, but it also gave us a rare opportunity to reassess not just where we work, but how we’ve worked over the years…
Fast forward to now, and we’re laying the foundation.. quite literally for something new. The photo says it all: sometimes you’ve got to get your hands dirty, sweat a little (or a lot 😉), and contribute more than just ideas. You build with #grit, with #passion, and with #vision.
Startups in tech these days feels different. It’s quieter. Slower. Less trendy. Regulations are tighter, cash flow is harder, almost it feels tougher. But this is what separates real entrepreneurs: when the environment gets rough, we don’t step back… we adapt, re-strategize, and move forward…
With renewed energy, we’ve built the new Guzo Technologies ጉዞ ቴክኖሎጂስ HQ and an undisclosed #Lab is coming with it. This is more than a move. It’s a mindset shift.
To anyone out there, don’t be afraid to rebuild, relearn, and reimagine. The next chapter is never handed to you sometimes, you have to carve it out yourself!
We’re coming coming soon.
