One value that stood out in the Valkyries brand was “Inspirational Storytellers” because everyone here in the Bay got a motivational story to tell.
During the creative process, Black Star’s “Respiration” came on, and Mos Def’s verse, “blasting holes in the night til she bled sunshine,” painted a picture in our mind. That’s the grind, the Bay Area hustle: light emerging from darkness, pushing through adversity. We wanted to capture a moment, a collective sigh if you will. This mural is that breath, that pause where their legend is written.
You know what made this project extra special? The seamless collaboration. After we finalized the design on our end, BAMP stepped in and handled the heavy lifting – getting the sketch on the wall, blocking in colors, and securing the lift and materials. We got to show up towards the end, lay down all the details and add the finishing touches. Big ups to the BAMP team on this selfless collab! 🙏🏽
