When the IFC @ifc_org invests in your dream too!!! The last 2 years have stretched us as a business… has stretched me beyond my wildest dreams!!! I had heard the word resilient many times over and over again but boy, I don’t even think I really understood the meaning but these last few years, I’ve lived it… and only those close to me can understand… They say you can’t continue to do the same thing over and over again and expect a different outcome… So last year, as a business, we took a leap of faith and decided to do things differently and it is paying off already! Not only is it now reflecting in our numbers, it’s even reflecting on our team…. We innovated, came up with new products as a business… delved into the world of lending to the women at the bottom of the pyramid, the underserved and it’s been an amazing journey… we ran a pilot in Q1 of 2025 and it was successful and we decided to scale it in Q3 and Q4 and it’s been lovely. We’ve expanded to 6 different markets and we’ve been able to maintain 0% Non performing Loans. Oh yes, we know it’s still early days but we are grateful for this win and looking to scale even more this year!!! Last year out of over 3,000 applicants, Herconomy was selected to join the first cohort (100 founders) of the IFC’s SheWinsAfrica Program. We went through a year long training. At the end of the program, 5 companies were further selected to win a grant and I am proud to share that @herconomy won it! The IFC loves what we are doing and have invested in us… more importantly, this 20k doesn’t come on its own, it unlocked even more institutional funding for us, where the only way to unlock this grant was if we could also get co investors that could come on board who could double or triple this amount, within a short time! Amazing day with the Honorable Minister of Finance, Mr. Wale Edun @finminnigeria at the Mary Ojulari Foundation where I was invited to speak to their shortlisted entrepreneurs on Building Financial Confidence and Community and I did justice to the topic!😉 But imagine my shock and confusion when I was about to start my presentation and the Honorable Minister walked in!!! I almost passed out, especially because, I had quoted him in my presentation😂😂 but I think he was impressed seeing that he quoted me multiple times in his own presentation as well! Totally honored and totally made my day!!! Thank you so much sir! Thanks to the amazing people of @maryojularifoundation ! You all are doing such an amazing job investing in our entrepreneurs… providing funding, capacity building and mentorship for them!!!! This is exactly what we need!!! The founder @adepeggy who used to be the former CEO of Mercedez Benz in Nigeria for many years, recently retired and decided she was going to give back on the continent is totally inspiring and noteworthy! The Darkest month of adulthood💔… I woke up on the 5th of May, and I was just upset! Went to work, it was meant to be our celebration at work for workers day and I couldn’t get myself to participate in any of the games, as a matter of fact, I couldn’t even leave my office… Completely down, for absolutely no reason…. Then a message came…. And I just knew…. My Sister left me…. She had transitioned and I’m still so so stunned and in disbelief!!! Why? How? Why Dami? The most beautiful, kind hearted, God loving, good good girl… How??? It’s been exactly 2 weeks and my heart is completely shattered… Damilola mi! Truly the most beautiful! How does my heart comprehend this? I’m missing you terribly!💔 This is so so hard!!! Thank you for 21 beautiful years of friendship and sisterhood! We laughed, cried, danced, travelled the world, did gangsta things together and I’ll forever cherish those memories! Thank you for showing me what STRENGTH looks like!!! You were a SOLDIER! You carried your pain with so much grace, strength and poise and even on the darkest days, your faith was unwavering! Wow!!! You touched the world with your love and you touched me with your soul! A Global Babe😍 Doing my final preparation for our Global Opportunities Masterclass tomorrow and I’m just so thankful for my growth! I’m truly in my feelings today! I’ve never been one to count the countries I’ve been to, I actually do not care… but honored to be able to hold space in the rooms/countries I’ve had the opportunity to visit!! Thanking God for strength over the last 3 weeks!!!🙏 Working through different time zones, keeping up with life while making real life connections through Harambe and the Presidential Prescint… The 4am calls, the emergency meetings, the long road trips, the crazy that life throws at you… the pain, the heart break, the unexpected blessings, meeting my latest baby Zen, Omugwo… Lord I’m thankful for it all. Many days, I thought I will pass out.. Many days, I was burnt out… Many days I cried… But I did it anyway… Someone once told me… Ife, you’re not a Superstar… Lmao… Turns out I’m not… I’m better… Because I show up✌️ That right there, is my SUPER POWER!

Completely no words for how I actually feel! Darden Business School set the tone for one of the most transformative weeks I’ve had in a long time ✨ Still processing the magic of this past week with the @presidentialprecinct and I am so honored to now be a Fellow of the Prescint! From Charlottesville to Washington DC, to some of the most historic sites in the U.S., this experience was more than a program, it was a deep dive into leadership, democracy, and the power of collective action. Our sessions challenged us to think deeply about civic leadership, navigating complex systems, decision-making, and building institutions that truly serve people. Every conversation pushed me to reflect on the kind of leader I am and the kind I am still becoming.
