About the Artist:
Brandon Slewion (b. 1997) is an interdisciplinary artist, educator, and entrepreneur working between Toledo, Ohio, and Washington, D.C. Raised in the nation’s capital, his upbringing amidst politics, business, tourism, and inner-city sports deeply influenced his views on identity, competitive culture, and personal branding.
His work explores the movement of people and the fluidity of cultural and personal identities in urban environments. Brandon’s curatorial practice expands the idea of public works and alternative education, seeking to redesign the artist’s role as a community leader and role model. Through his projects, he examines the intersections of migration, community building, and the transformative power of art in fostering dialogue and understanding.
