Em menos de 10 dias, um grupo de corajosos (ou loucos... Talvez...) aceitou o desafio de organizar e fazer acontecer o NASA Space Apps Challenge SJC - apenas o maior hackathon do mundo em sua primeira edição em São José dos Campos.
Tínhamos pouco tempo e nenhum recurso. Opa!! Nenhum recurso?!?! Não!!! Nós tínhamos um recurso!!! AMIGOS!!! Isso!!! Esse era nosso recurso!
Foi com isso em mente que aceitamos o desafio e começamos a movimentar as engrenagens para fazer esse evento acontecer!
No segundo dia já tínhamos as redes sociais e o sistema de cadastro para receber as inscrições e já começamos a divulgar!
O resultado foi um só... SUCESSO! 192 inscritos, 11 projetos submetidos seguindo as exigências da NASA - a título de comparação, apenas 6 cidades brasileiras conseguiram um número maior de projetos!
Tudo isso serve para mostrar o quanto pessoas engajadas de verdade conseguem mudar uma realidade!

Meet our panel of jurors who will help select the most impactful projects! Introducing Marieme Jamme, Founder of IAMTHECODE, the first African-led global movement aimed at mobilising governments and businesses to support women in STEMD fields. Marieme is an award-winning technologist and pioneer in system change and a Young Global Leader of the World Economic Forum.
The top 75 projects will be recognized as a part of the UN75 Global Conversation project, after which 15 projects will be presented to a jury of high-level leaders, funders, investors, and supporters at The Futures Project’s Flagship Conference in December 2020.
Finally, the winning 5 projects will get the chance of a lifetime to participate in our highly-customised Social Impact Accelerator in Spring 2021. With one-on-one mentoring from industry experts and leaders, interaction with our global network, the winning Innovators will have the opportunity to launch their projects into the next phases of impact for the future.

Marieme Jamme @mjamme is an award-winning technologist and pioneer in system change and a Young Global Leader of the World Economic Forum. In Sept 2017, she won the Innovation Award at the Global Goals Award 2017 by UNICEF and the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation as a GoalKeeper for her work in advancing the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals, supporting globally young women and girls and governments.

Marieme’s latest venture includes the launch of IAMTHECODE (@i_amthecode ), as the first African- led global movement aiming at mobilising governments, businesses and investors to support girls and young women in STEAMD (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, Mathematics, and Design).

Her goal is to empower 1 million young women and girls globally to become coders by 2030 and to align with the United Nations 2030 Agenda. Marieme is the first black woman to be named and invited to be part of the UBS Group Global visionaries’ program.

Our joint actions started with Gastromotiva and our co-founder @DavidHertz in 2017 while working with an amazing cohort of girls connecting both the power of food and coding to empower those in need.

Lady Marieme’s commitment to gender equality, digital equity, and empowering 1 million girls has been an inspiration for SGM. This is especially true for this initiative to collectively serve 1 million meals. We are so grateful to have her as part of our inclusive and independent jury. ⭐
