How does life look like when you're surrounded by drought?
Mahado is one of the millions of people in Somalia who have lost their home and livestock to the drought, and who fight every day to feed their families.

A surge in aid can help turn the tide. WFP is ready and has the capacity to scale up.
đ The ripple effects of the Middle East conflict continue to impact the global economy.
The true cost of this crisis will land far from the frontlines as well.
đHere's why, and why you should care.
âď¸ In some of the worldâs most inaccessible, conflictâaffected places, air drops are often the only way to reach people on the front lines of hunger.
Through WFP Aviation and the UN Humanitarian Air Service (UNHAS), WFP delivered over 13,000 tons of humanitarian aid in 2025 and airdropped an additional 9,400 tons of food into South Sudanâs most isolated areas.
Beyond food, WFPâmanaged UNHAS also transported staff from 217 humanitarian organizations, making lifeâsaving operations possible where no other access exists.
