What’s cool is you don’t have to have something fancy to do this. You could simply bounce your audio, play it back through a Bluetooth speaker of any type in any space, and re-capture that audio to add a new, organic space to any recording. #reamping #audioengineering #producer #orchestra
Not AI. We gotta stand against that shit y’all. AI wouldn’t have accidentally had the kick and snare channels reversed while I was recording this, which resulted in a sound I really enjoyed. AI wouldn’t have left the timing natural. AI wouldn’t have both overheads panned hard right. That’s what we do as humans… we mess things up. Both on accident and on purpose. It’s what makes us feel connected to each other and to ourselves. Our brains don’t like perfection and our brains like to be surprised. Leave tech bro shit out of music please. If you’ve already done it, it’s never too late to turnaround… or at least I hope so. #aisucks

Amelie and I met in a write earlier this year and as soon as I heard her music I knew we had to make something together. One of my favorite things about it is that Amelie had never recorded violin on anything before and hadn’t picked up the instrument in years, but I convinced her to bring it in and we had a whole string arrangement by end of the day!! We were both so geeked and I still am with how this one turned out.

I put out a new song today! “Ultraviolet” came from a really fun place. Back in April 2023, I saw @chill.son.music post a video of them playing this groove and we had just worked together with me mixing one of their songs. I reached out and asked if they would be down to collaborate on the idea and so I wrote over the top of it and we recorded some stuff remotely with them and then I finished it out in my studio.
Lyrically, it’s about someone loving you so much that they can’t bear the conversation that one day you won’t be here anymore.
Thanks for all the talented people who worked with me on this one :) this is the last song I had from a batch of stuff I wrote last year so I’m excited to start writing new material!!

@hannahgrae - “Bitch” Had the immense pleasure of co-writing this one with Hannah when she was in Nashville back in April. Our first time in the room together and when she referenced Toxic by Britney Spears, I wasn’t sure where we would end up but it became clear very quickly and it was a blast jumping in the car with her on this one.
Hannah is such a badass and singular in her expression which I think is sort of a lost art right now. So many of her fans have already connected with this song and I’m excited to see where it goes.
