EofUs supports @hullopenstudios_ and lucky for us we got a sneak peak at two artists @moi.mariya and @miss_i_dru_this work and their spaces today. What a treat to meet and see behind the scenes while also exploring city buildings. We reckon there’s plenty more worth a visit this weekend if you can. Thanks Mariia and Dionne for the tours !

📣PARTICIPANT ANNOUNCEMENT @zivarnamurphyceramics Zivarna is a research-based conceptual ceramic artist, having trained in Medical Anthropology and holding a PhD in Human Sciences she brings emergent themes from her research around the social aspects of body and organ donation, namely loss, grief, transformation, and emotion, into her ceramic vessels. On visits to her local East Yorkshire coastline, she observes the erosion and loss of this landscape body as a metaphor for human loss. Zivarna hand-forms her tactile vessels from stoneware and porcelain, layered with eroded wild boulder clay and impressed shells, rocks and fossils, all gathered from this coastline, imbuing each piece with a strong sense of place and connection. The forms draw upon structures she sees in her local landscape such as fossilised shell bodies, ebbing cliffs and sea formed rocks. She is interested in firing as a transformative process and the becoming of the vessel body. 📣PARTICIPANT ANNOUNCEMENT @miss_i_dru_this About Dionne Ruffy’s work: I am interested in the relationship between 2D / 3D and what happens in the transformation from one form to another. I do this by working with architectural space, the experience I have within a space. I work with everyday materials and enjoy seeing what happens if that material is repeated to fill up a space. The outcomes take the form of installations that are site specific. I also work with light and projection and how this interacts to make a new language that asks the viewer to navigate a new understanding of the space.
