As part of our #MDW2026 exhibit, we’re showcasing work from "Calm Office" a 3rd-year @industrialdesign.rmit studio in partnership with @humanscale
Students Matthew Moore, Jeremy Riminton, and Ned Cohen explored the intersection of human-centered design and mass-production.
ARK by Ned Cohen: A desk concept developed through ethnographic research of workplace behaviour.
STRATUM by Jeremy Riminton: A modular shelving system giving users personal agency in open-plan offices.
LINEA by Matthew Moore: A precision-led system of bent steel and aluminum designed for intuitive creative work.
From flat-packing to easy disassembly, these projects prove that the future of work is both ergonomic and circular.

We’re proud to announce our participation in Melbourne Design Week 2026 with Future Workplace Thinking: Systems, Spaces, Cities.
In partnership with RMIT’s Schools of Architecture, Interior Design, and Industrial Design, we’ve transformed our St Kilda Road frontage into a public window gallery.
The installation explores a vital question: how will we work in the 21st century?
From furniture designed for upgrade rather than obsolescence to urban-scale concepts that treat the office as a cultural catalyst, this exhibition showcases the next generation of Australian design responding to the circular economy.
Step past and explore the iterative process of designing, testing, and remaking for a more thoughtful future.

Designed by @batessmart and delivered by @fdc_group , the 5,000 sqm project is underpinned by the concept of Purity of Geometry. Referencing the building’s space-frame roof, triangular and square forms are translated into a disciplined architectural language, softened materiality and a warm, refined palette, offering a contemporary nod to its 1970s origins.
We supplied 400+ Liberty Task Chairs by @humanscale throughout the office a focused contribution, but one that reflects a broader shift in workplace thinking.
Backed by a 15-year warranty and supported by Humanscale’s great refurbishment and rehoming programmes, the chairs are designed to extend the life of the fitout and reduce the need for early replacement.
Reuse, Repair, Recycle - Circularity was the key focus of the new workplace for Hydro Tasmania’s retail arm, Momentum Energy.
Working closely with @hot.black.design the new office was designed to incorporate reused and relocated furniture as part of the overall workplace strategy. Rather than starting from scratch, existing workstations were thoughtfully integrated into the new layout alongside new settings, ensuring visual consistency and functional performance across the floor.
HOW Group facilitated the relocation of workstations from Momentum Energy’s previous office, managing disassembly, transport and reinstallation. These were fitted with matching acoustic panels to align with the new Adapt Workstation settings. By retaining and reusing quality furniture, the project reduced material sent to landfill and avoided the need for additional virgin materials to manufacture entirely new settings.
New workstation areas were delivered using the Adapt Workstation, supported by task seating designed for daily ergonomic performance. All new workstations and task chairs were supplied with 10 year warranties, reinforcing a focus on durability and long term use.

Costantina Lamp by Nava + Arosio for Mogg transforms sculptural form into functional light.
Costantina explores modular geometry and poetic proportion, a totemic column rising from floor to ceiling through rhythm and repetition. Each stacked segment shifts the balance between solidity and void, weight and lightness, creating a quiet dialogue between material and illumination.
With circularity at its core, the 360 chair by Savo works 3 times harder to promote movement, sustainability and functionality.
01. 360 is produced entirely as a sustainable chair completely made of wood – including the star base and armrest, with every part replaceable and fully recyclable.
02. Intelligent and intuitive the 360 utilises the flexibility of the timber construction to provide enhanced comfort and 360° freedom of movement.
03. 360 works exactly how you’d want an office chair collection to with flexibility for task, meeting, co-working or learning.

From the iconic FABLE collection where folk tales are reimagined in form and materiality, to the sculptured harmony of the latest range NAUTILOID, Ross Didier’s work explores the spatial dialogue between form, materiality and emotion to reveal how objects can influence the spaces we inhabit.
With unassuming simplicity that conceals masterful construction, Didier creates a world where art meets design, craft blends with engineering and utilitarianism embraces luxury, an intricate balance where the objects become more than furniture, they become reflections of narrative, emotion and place.
