The Museum of Fine Arts has always been my favorite art museum in Boston ever since my high school art teacher John MacPhee aka
@jmjournals first brought our class there in ’93, so it was It was an absolute honor to have been asked to join the team at
@studiosfresh to live-paint during a truly extraordinary event put on by our friends
@42_north at the
@mfaboston last week.
I worked alongside a solid squad of 6 other muralists on a massive 12’x60’ curved canvas to recreate Winslow Homer’s watercolor masterpiece “Summer Squall” as a nod to the MFA’s newly-opened Homer exhibition.
We were able to complete the entire live paint in two hours, which under typical circumstances would be next to impossible…But with the meticulous planning abilities and adaptability that only come with executing walls for the past 25+ years (
@danawoulfe I’m lookin’ at you) and an eager and capable team backing him up [
@tj.mroz @getfalked @captainmichaelhart @evan_2day @heidis_artt ] , we sailed right on through it and had a blast in the process.
This really got me excited again for live painting, and for painting in general. A heartfelt thank you to everyone who made it happen:
