Thanks to everyone who came to the opening of ‘Continens’ last Thursday at the urban disctrict AM Tacheles. A night defined by shadow, materiality, Latin American contemporary & collectible design plus five tons of gravel.
Continens takes its name from the Latin for “holding together”, a vision of unity within diversity.
While traditional maps divide the Earth into separate continents, ‘Continens’ reimagines the planet as one connected landmass embracing an alternative reading of the Earth, one inspired by Buckminster Fuller’s Dymaxion Map. Fuller’s projection reimagined the planet as a continuous, interconnected landmass, “terra continens.”

HOLDER ARCHIVE 02
Plaka Chair | Designed by Argentine designer Ricardo Blanco in 1972, the chair was conceived with a clear functional goal: to create a folding chair as thin as possible when folded, maximizing portability and ease of storage. Blanco envisioned a design that could be hung on a wall, emphasizing its graphic, sculptural quality beyond mere utility.
It stands as a landmark piece in the history of Argentine design and since 2024 is part of the MoMA permanent collection @themuseumofmodernart

Recovering material memory: This is the second video we’ve developed to promote Latin American design through content and archival materials.
Our curation involves researching, documenting and uncovering valuable yet lesser-known Latin American design heritage pieces, a process we call “design archaeology,” to preserve and raise public awareness of these important historical pieces.

The Tumble Chair by Kilzi is stripped down to its essence: slender tubular stainless steel shaped into a precise, almost skeletal form, balancing delicacy with presence.

In a saturated digital landscape, the interpretation of a collectible object requires physical proximity. For Holder, maintaining an offline presence is a curatorial requirement.
Our participation in global fairs and site-specific exhibitions serves as the primary medium for contextualizing Latin American design. It is within the physical realm that the sophistication of the raw is fully articulated.
Design remains a spatial reality.

Holder + other circle
post-disciplinary creative culture
Holder curates and diffuses Latin American contemporary design, bridging continents culturally and commercially. Founded by designer Trinidad Davanzo and architect Camilo Palma, it moves beyond regional stereotypes — presenting furniture and art-led objects that honor heritage through material restraint and architectural form. From Patagonian oak to volcanic stone, Holder is a living archive of material culture, shortening the distance between Latin America and Europe.
other circle is a post-disciplinary platform rooted in creative culture. Our mission is to capture moments and energies across disciplines.
The Lab, 2100 Copenhagen
10th-13th of June Free and open to all.

The Andes House is a Chilean design and architecture studio driven by research, analysis, and material experimentation, with a clear interest in revealing the inherent qualities, forms, and potential of each material.
Each TAH design is shaped through a rigorous research process that gives rise to objects, furniture, and spaces intended to enrich the way we live and elevate everyday experience. From concept to production, the studio gives equal weight to the visual language of each piece and to the way it is crafted and made.

The Chainmail Chair is a new take on William Katavolos’s 1952 T-Chair, designed by Mexican studio Panorammma. Its seat is made of hand-linked metal rings that form a strong yet flexible mesh, draping over the
T-structure.
For the Chainmail chair, we sought to create a design that supported the idea of a body that is open to different forms of expression. Chainmail chair ultimately seeks to express and question our wish for constraint.
Chainmail is a fascinating material. Its seat consists of a series of hand-linked rings coming together to form a strong and flexible mesh that drapes like a textile. The result of an old craft that somehow looks industrial and modern.

Usually, Latin American design has been reduced to stereotypes of pure ornamentation or folklore.
At Holder, we look deeper. We celebrate the beauty in material restraint, the honesty of craftsmanship, and the architectural strength of form.
Our curation is a dialogue between modern academic training and ancestral roots, It is about showcasing the diversity and complexity of our region through pieces that are as raw as they are refined.
This is our Latin American narrative: Contemporary, collectible, diverse, deeply rooted and a profound respect for material.

Sculptural pieces inspired by traditional hard candies from Mexico such as Tornillo and Faros, designed by the Mexican studio Ayres Studio.
Each piece is crafted in marble, travertine, or onyx, celebrating the weight, color, and texture of the stone. Designed to work both as a standalone totem and as a structural table leg, it invites you to compose your own landscape of volumes and surfaces.
