The current government is making it harder for artists to create. Rents are higher, funding is reduced, less art is shown at venues, and fewer artists are sharing less money. We want to resist the push towards individualisation and competition. Us artists at höjden want a space where we share resources and support each other as a thriving community of artists. If we come together we can be a stronger voice.

Together with colleagues from höjden studios, Konträr, and STHLM DANS we’ve been thinking about switching between roles and adjusting to the expectations that accompany them.
From from 11:30-14:00, we’re inviting you to discuss shifts in power relationships and how roles form in collectives. How to align priorities in collectives in a field that operates on immense motivation and how to then navigate tension that can emerge when people’s individual “drives” don’t always perfectly line up in identical ways?

This month is hosted by @m.selivanov 🙌✨ Höjden Nights is a monthly after-work get-together for members, possible yet-to-be members, and public. We meet at Höjden to discuss the latest developments in our field, share best practices, enjoy company, and catch an open rehearsal (come see / listen;)

You find us at Östbergatorget 21, 125 73, Älvsjö. Bus 134 from Liljeholmen or Årstaberg, or 20 min walking distance from Årstaberg station (commuter train) and Årstafältet (tram).
ACCESSIBILITY:
The house is located on the ground floor. Wheelchair ramp is available. Premises are accessible, with large and open areas, and there are accessible toilet facilities adapted for wheelchair users.

Från 1 maj har vi en ledig arbetsplats i en delad studio på övervåningen. Rummet delas med två andra konstnärer som arbetar med litteratur och måleri.
Hyra: 2750kr/kvartal inkl moms. I hyran ingår även medlemskapsavgift.
Vi ser gärna att du är registrerad för F-skatt men det är inte ett krav.
Du som hyr får även tillgång till våra gemensamma ytor, kontor, kök och vardagsrum och möjlighet att boka danssalen. Du får gärna arrangera publika såväl som interna event.
Vi letar efter dig som är konstnär eller kulturarbetare som vill ha en egen arbetsplats och som kan vara intresserad av en konstnärsdriven plattform där kollegialt utbyte och gemenskap blir en del av vardagen och arbetet.

Rummet är ca 10kvm och kostar 1760kr/månad exkl moms. Medlemskap ingår i priset!
Tillträde 1 Juli, med möjlighet till tillträde omgående efter överenskommelse.

Rummet ligger på övervåningen och har fönster till danssalen, som i sin tur har stora fönster mot sydost. Rummet är möblerat med ett långt arbetsbord med plats för två personer och en soffa.
Du som hyr ateljé på Höjden får även tillgång till vårt mysiga kontorslandskap, fullt utrustat kök och vardagsrum och möjlighet att boka danssalen. Du kan komma och gå dygnet runt och får gärna arrangera publika såväl som interna evenemang i våra gemensamma ytor.

Welcome to Gathering Dance at Höjden, a monthly event open for professional dancers, choreographers and performers
”I initiate this format to gather because I miss spending time in the studio with other dancers. The idea is that we meet to share practices, thoughts, ideas and reflections in a structured format. I hosted two events last autumn at MDT and will continue this spring at Höjden. The general idea is to have around three or four people having prepared something to share with the group for each session (around 30 min each), it could be something you’d like to try out with a group, it can be something old, new or blue – I just ask you to come prepared to host it. We work and then we break following a conversation.
I will facilitate the overall session but each person who shares lead their proposition.

Bio:
Salka Ardal Rosengren works with dance and performance. She is born and raised in Stockholm and moved to Brussels to study at P.A.R.T.S. (2006-2010), She has created works with Mikko Hyvönen (Trash Talk), Nicholas Hoffman (The Thing with a Hook) and Andrew Hardwidge (Subbodybodysub) and has recently toured her piece Lasting Figures with Riksteatern. As a dancer she has worked with among others: Eszter Salamon, Xavier Le Roy, Boris Charmatz, Tino Sehgal, Daniel Linehan, Salva Sanchis, Björn Säfsten, Malin Elgán, Liz Kinoshita, Rosalind Goldberg and most recently with Byström & Källblad.
She has an MA from SKH in New Perfromative Practices and teaches dance at Balettakademin and BA Bredäng where she lives. She is in the management team for the preparatory education Dansutbildning Modern/Nutida at BA and is in the reference group for the professional daily training in Stockholm.
