Dramaturgies: Obscene, Minor, Contrapuntal. Next week @danscentrumvast This workshop offers a forum for collective dramaturgical process and context-making for dance artists. Using notions of the obscene, the minor and the contrapuntal to shape reflection, the workshop is an invitation to dramaturgy as an embodied social practice, attentive to and complicit in production, process, people, materials, and the politics of and between worlds: a way of working with ecologies of practice, sensibility, attention, support, and critique. Participants are invited to bring works, materials, or questions that challenge or feel at stake in their practice as performers, dancers, or choreographers. Materials do not need to be complete or finished; uncertainties and partial ideas are welcome. The workshop will develop through discussion, sharing, perceptual practices, making and storytelling to explore the different worlds and somatic fictions that emerge, endure, and end alongside artistic works. To sign up, please send a brief motivation describing something at stake or in friction in your practice at the moment to [email protected]. The format can be text, video, audio, whatever works best for you. 📍Göteborg - Danscentrum Väst 🗓Tuesday 14th April and Thursday 16th - 14-17, (with space on Wednesday held as a space for independent work.)

9. Art and Life: Andrew Hardwidge and Fatima Kassius Fatima is one of the curators behind galleri höjden and wants to connect with the neighbors. Andrew is a dramaturg and dancer, he enjoys feeding people and grapples with what it means to be a performer who is also a parent. In the 9th episode of drift they address their prioritization of social relationships over artistic careers and question how context can become part of a performance or an exhibition. Could collectivity gain more importance when working with art and is it possible to hold space for nurturing within artistic spheres? Follow link in bio to listen and read more about the artists! drift is produced by Oda Brekke and Scott Cazan graphics by Edith Ekström mastering by Foad Arbabi with support from Kulturrådet @fatimakassius @boatbuilding @scazan @odabrekk @satmara @omgfoad @kulturradet.se
