@_matteosedda_ ‘s F U C K M E B L I N D explores the dynamics of a very specific kind of desire. And, without using words, it tells a universal story, one that reflects the experience of countless LGBTQIA+ people throughout history. During Tuesday’s sero-talk at the queer festival @orlandobergamo , Matteo explained how his idea was not only to pay tribute to the work of Derek Jarman, but also to exorcise a personal trauma connected to his own experience of living with HIV. The truth is that this trauma inevitably lives inside all trans*, gay, and bisexual people, regardless of their HIV-status. The AIDS epidemic left a wound in the collective unconscious and in the way we all approach sexuality, even for those who did not directly live through those tough years. The more we’ll be able to confront it together and process it collectively, the more we may learn to recognize when we are driven by vital impulses and by a deep need for connection, and when, instead, we are moved by sexual urges that long for oblivion, dissolution or death. Not that it’s possible to solve the eternal tension between Eros and Thanatos, but still… understanding it a little better certainly can’t hurt. Anyway, huge congratulations @_matteosedda_ @margherita_scalise oneclaphand @men_in_pain 🔥👏 📹 In the video: the experimental version created in collaboration with the @antwerpqueerchoir , presented at the @toneelhuis during #ArtistsAgainstStigma 2024, the HIV&Art festival organized by @hiv_isible and @antwerpqueerartsfestival 📷 Reel cover photo by Festival ORLANDO 2026 © Ludovica Belotti e Carlo Valtellina #ArtivismAgainstSerophobia

Sunday, November 30, the iconic Bourla Theatre in Antwerp opens its doors for Artists Against Stigma. Merging art, activism, and community, this edition features a Positive Lunch in the lavish foyer, followed by a powerful main stage theatre show in the concert hall. During the lunch, guests will enjoy live performances. Your host and first performer is drag king Raoul les mecaniques. Drag queens Ebony Nyota and Diva Beirut will stun you with class acts that range from French superstylish to vibrant and eclectic Lebanese performance. Performer Bas Van der Kruk will combine spoken word and dance, in interaction with the audience. Caribe Montiel & Simon(e) Paetau prepare a feast for your eyes as a tableau vivant with flowers and fruit. The afternoon continues in the main hall featuring international names like dancers Juan Cruz Cizmar & Marcos Arriola, Leona Winter (winner of The Switch Drag Race, Chilean version of RuPaul’s Drag Race). Activist and artist Mel Rattue shares her story as a long-term survivor, mother, and peer coordinator at Positive East in London. Filmmaker Marina Vergueiro joins us with her film, Letters to Myself, which challenges the invisibility of women when discussing HIV, transforming personal stories into collective strength and dialogue. The edition also features a collaboration with Visual Aids. De Cinema will screen “Meet Us Where We’re At”, a program of six videos that forefront the experiences of drug users and harm reduction practices as they intersect with the ongoing HIV crisis. Commissioned videos by artists in Puerto Rico, Brazil, Nigeria, Germany, and Vietnam journey across a range of spaces revealing the complexity of drug use. Several videos document the visible world of drugs—a harm reduction program in a Berlin park, a night out during Rio’s Carnival—while others reveal private, often hidden spaces where safety is found: bedrooms, underground clinics, and moments of connection between lovers. In the next couple of weeks we will present this powerful parade in more detail. Tickets available through link in bio. Supported by De Nationale Loterij ;-)

Are you keeping up with us darlings? Because we are gonna be loud and queer all year. 👇 OPEN CALL ARTISTS AGAINST STIGMA Artists Against Stigma is, first and foremost, a platform to amplify the too-often silenced voices of artists living with HIV. We prioritise those who speak from lived experience, reclaiming space, visibility and joy in a world that too often ignores or erases our bodies and stories. But keep reading if you're not that person but have a strong connection to these topics. This edition takes place during a POZ Brunch Matinee, and we especially welcome proposals from drag artists and dragtivists — but the call is open to performers of all styles and identities whose work engages with sexual health, stigma and liberation. It is a space of power, creativity and transformation. A space where health is a right, pleasure is not guilt, and art becomes a tool for collective change. We reclaim visibility not as exposure, but as pride. We centre stories, bodies, grief, joy, desire. If you’re sero-involved — through status, care, community or commitment — this is your space. Love you darlings! Keep speaking truth to power! #HIVISIBLE & collab with @toneelhuis

I'm posting this a week after the amazing POSITIF FESTIVAL in Paris, where I got to meet extraordinary people and talk about the complexity of living with HIV. I feel so honored to have received a trophy for my activism! Thank you to @shams.france and to @supersero_ for your trust, love, and brotherhood! HIV/AIDS stories can sometimes be very isolating, lonesome, and destructive. Moments like these where we feel a sense of community are priceless and save lives.
