We’re proud to have provided virtual production services for Sony’s feature film, The Pope’s Exorcist. This project is a great example of how virtual production can be customised to fit the specific needs of each production. Instead of using a curved wall, the production opted for straight walls with two on movable rollers, and a pre-rendered plates workflow. This setup was perfect for the production, and not restrictive, as they had a clear storyboard and plan for each shot which didn’t require much camera movement, and didn’t require camera tracking. Another benefit of this setup was that the plates didn’t need to be stitched together, which also relieved time pressures. We utilised two @disguise_one media servers, @bromptontech ’s SX40’s with 3d LUT control via @wearepomfort Livegrade, and Hydra calibrated @roevisual Black Onyx tiles supplied by @faberav to manage the exact colour pipe. Pomfort’s Livegrade gave the DIT the ability to grade the content on the LED screens to match the show LUT on set. We were also able to give the gaffer a “digital sun” via artnet which allowed the lighting operator to manage a sun position in the LED screens. We’re thrilled to have been a part of this project! It’s a ‘behind the scenes’ kind of @modernlovetv - Series 2, Episode 3 to be exact - Strangers on a Train for @primevideo 🧡 A little throwback to the workflow for @modernlovetv Train Scenes filmed in 2020. Working with designers @pov_fi and @lucyvan.l , we created an immersive train journey from Galway to Dublin, as the setting to this love story. Beautifully captured plates from DP @jccine were expertly graded and stitched by @outerlimitspost and played back on high res LED walls giving a photorealistic environment with interactive light and real reflections. As always, partnering with @faberaudiovisuals , @bromptontech and @disguise_one for LED Screens, Processing and Servers was key 👏🏻.. and what a result!

This time last year in April 2025 @expo2025japan had been open for just one week! Looking back on one of our larger projects of last year... High Res delivered the projection, lighting, and audio systems for @irelandatexpo , in collaboration with @jrdisplays.ie , @irishforeignministry , @opwireland , @nationalmuseumireland , and @nationalconcerthall . Across the Pavilion’s three exhibition spaces, we provided creative and exhibition lighting for displays and curated objects, as well as coordinated projection, lighting design, and 5.1 surround sound for An Talamh / The Plain, a specially commissioned film and soundscape by artist @marianne_keating with an original score by Caoimhín Ó Raghallaigh. The audio system was designed by John Vickers of sound_design_ire and delivered by @jasonfallon_ols of One Louder Sound. We also integrated flexible content playback options to support the DFA’s wide range of events throughout their Expo programme. High Res’ @markgalione designed lighting looks, programmed by Josefine Danielsson, for live performances by the Expo Players and other daily events within the Pavilion. Epson projectors provided by @prgjapan and @disguise_one servers provided by @bylexconceptdesigncontrol , allowed various video set ups to be programmed by @kjellrijntjes and @ama.on.set for ‘Ellipse 3’; the multimedia space. Chip Devitt was chief QLab network programmer, and all round solutions magician, integrating QLab, Brightsign players and even carpentry. Edu Prado was onsite sound engineer setting everything audio up, and keeping musical performances, presentations and events sounding perfect for the opening few weeks of Expo. High Res’ 3D modelling preparation, design, and CAD was executed by Reinaldo Lelis. We can’t fit everything we want to say about this here! So more info, and most importantly - thank yous! - in comment below. #OsakaExpo2025 #IrelandAtExpo #Expo2025 #LightingDesign #Projection

Have you caught the new season of Wednesday on Netflix yet? One of the largest productions ever to film in Ireland (!), we really enjoyed being involved, with the production filming some driving scenes with LED for Wednesday Season 2! High Res provided a hybrid VP workflow for the driving scenes; giving the DOP PJ Dillon interactive lighting from the LED walls placed around the car, with an inner blue frustum and tracking markers for VFX supervisor Tom Turnbull and the VFX team. Swipe ➡️ for more! Looking forward to Part 2 next week! #HighRes #VirtualProduction #VP #LEDWalls #Production #Ireland @disguise_one @bromptontech @roevisual @screenireland @peter_canning @dalalice @ama.on.set @matt_deanelx @reilelis_

Just over a month ago we took part in a great week providing VP services for this years @screendirectors ARRI Alexa Take project! At High Res we believe that the future success of the Irish creative industries is built on collaboration, innovation, and access to cutting-edge technology. That’s why we are committed to supporting initiatives like the Screen Directors Guild of Ireland ARRI ALEXA TAKE which gives directors hands-on experience with the latest filmmaking tools, helping them push creative and technical boundaries. We were particularly excited to have the opportunity to contribute to Conor McMahon's short, GULP, written by Demian Fox, where a real-time virtual production workflow was utilised to capture in-camera VFX. It was a fabulous experience collaborating with all involved, especially with @outerlimitspost on creation of the assets, with director Conor, and with Michael Lavelle, the DOP. For this project High Res provided industry gold standard @roevisual LED, @bromptontech processing and an @unrealengine server system, along with @optitrack camera tracking, enabling real-time rendering of virtual environments on-set. Why we get involved? Our mission at High Res extends beyond delivering industry-leading virtual production services. We are dedicated to: R&D&I Industry Partner Collaboration Upskilling & Talent Development The SDGI ARRI ALEXA TAKE initiative is an incredible example of what’s possible when we support and invest in talent and technology. A huge thank you to SDGI for involving us in this initiative! Huge congratulations to all of the Team Ireland athletes arriving back from the Special Olympics World Winter Games! Throwback to when High Res were part of this @specialolympicsireland campaign, with @redragefilms , directed by Darragh Carey. To drive vital funding for Special Olympics Ireland, pro-bono collective Good Brains for Good Brands created the powerful “Can’t Stop Now” appeal, fronted by actor Colin Farrell. The campaign highlighted that the only thing that could stop Special Olympics athletes living fulfilling lives and pursuing their dreams wasn’t anything to do with their disabilities, but the lack of funding due to the Covid-19 pandemic at the time. The work married imagery of Ireland’s Special Olympians – including Anna Kilmartin, Aisling Beacom, and Margaret Turley – with powerful statements and stories inspired by their own personal journeys in overcoming adversity. Check out the finished campaign video and ➡️ to see our BTS video from the shoot! #VirtualProduction #LEDVolume #Throwback #SpecialOlympics #HighRes
