*Sentimental post*
The
@cutangomusicfestival has exponentially grown every year. This year was particularly a turning point. People traveled from all over the US to take workshops by
@palomaymaximiliano ,
@danielaroigtango and Hernan Prieto, listen to contemporary tango, dance to the great classics to a 20 piece orchestra, witness a choreography premiere, make friends at brunch and a jam, and so much more.
I was asked what started all this, and it was the simple desire of friends to play tango again after the pandemic.
@amanda.fiddolin and
@enchilin28 saw that
@maxfieldwf and me were working on our album, and wanted to support us while at the same time create this festival. Numerous conversations have led to where we are now, and quite frankly I can't believe it. I want to thank Amanda and En-Chi for letting me be a part of this. I want to thank my duo partners, Maxfield and
@roavalos_ , for joining me in this crazy journey. Thank you
@bandoneon_massacre for being an integral part of the success of the festival. Thank you
@miami_tango_club_ for making a great party with your music,
@medialuzphotography for your amazing photos,
@jamestreichler for the videos,
@urbanadancecompany for the amazing space and support,
@c4artsurbana for the rehearsal space, and
@krannertcenter for including us in your Krannert Uncorked music series.
Finally, an immense thank you to the audience members and dancers who attend these events. This would be impossible without you. I look forward to seeing you all next year on the first weekend of April. Put the CU Tango Music Festival in your calendar. Until then.
