Tango Connections: Musicality Pre-pare to listen and to dance in this class Tuesdays, 7:30 - 8:30p Taught by Amanda and En-Chi Begins February 24 PRE-Register HERE This 6-week class will explore the typical structure of a tango song by breaking down the musical architecture, recognizing phrases, transitions, and dramatic moments as they happen. Learn to hear the structure in order to dance the structure. In this class we will learn about musicality through dancing! Tango is not just about counting beats but also translating the music into movement—when to glide, when to pause, when to play with rhythm, and when to float with the melody. Musicality isn’t about memorizing steps; it’s about responding with intention. The class will also take a tour through the sounds of the great tango orquestas. From the rhythmic precision of Juan D’Arienzo Orchestra to the lyrical elegance of Carlos Di Sarli Orchestra, the dramatic storytelling of Aníbal Troilo Orchestra, and the sweeping romance of Osvaldo Pugliese Orchestra—each orchestra has its own personality, energy, and emotional landscape. Come connect the dots between sound and movement, structure and spontaneity, orchestra and style to make the music visible on the dance floor. Amanda and En-Chi
