Dev had the dream for fans to hear his album ahead of its release in a growing list of places most special to him, with only a few weeks to plan. After spending some time with the music earlier this summer, I understood how impactful this album would be for anyone experiencing a loss of some kind and why it calls for something more intimate. It was an honor to help find and nurture environments that match the warmth, spirit and community feel of this record, for a fanbase that showed such a deep appreciation for his music and personal approach. The series was made possible with the expertise, care and support from so many friends - now a trusted music family across the globe. Feeling so grateful to have been a part of this record’s introduction to the world. We turned an ambitious idea into a reality - one that was more beautiful, heartwarming and pure than we could have imagined.

What to say. 13 years of friendship and you loved me unconditionally through it all. Thank you everyone who reached out. I remember meeting Billy in the street at sxsw, a lanky friendly guy radiating with light that everyone seemed to know. A respect for one another and immediate trust somehow came to be. I never had someone place so much faith in me without ever having to prove myself. A belief that music could cure anything bonded us so quickly and deeply. He later took me under his wing as his co booker at Elvis Guesthouse. The first person in a professional sense who really saw me, but our relationship wasn’t just about work. We were collaborators, dreamers, goofs, two red headed libras that shared a similar perspective on the world and wanted to bring the same joy into it. The funniest guy in the room, our senses of humor connected us, and even though it was non stop laughter he always took me seriously. Billy was a wealth of knowledge with no airs or pretensions about him, always eager to share and learn from others. “Tell me everything” he would say, opening up the floor for me to spill on whatever I was passionate about or up to that day. An attentive listener and curious soul. He treated everyone as an equal and wanted to see the people he believed in win so bad. It brought him so much joy to uplift others and it was his greatest art form - though his vocal riffs at the piano are still stuck in my head to this day. He was never above doing the dirty work to make someone’s show unforgettable. There were so many times I’d rush to him for that Billy dose of realness, he would drop everything when someone he cared about needed him. He was beyond supportive of everything I did and was an honorary team mate in whatever I was pursuing. There will be an emptiness in my heart and New York that is impossible to imagine, but the community born out of his vision and endless generosity shines so bright.
