Born from a need for connection and creative exchange, dafe.cafe (@heydafe ) exists as a living space between collaboration and personal practice. Founded by multidisciplinary artist and producer Dafe Oboro (@dafeoboro ), the platform moves beyond labels of curating or producing, instead creating a rhythm of shared creativity through presentations, programming, and workshops. This November 8, dafe.cafe will present a new project Wander Wonder, which features a presentation by artist and Ala Praxis founding member Timilehin Oludare Osanyintolu (@timilehinoludare_ ) at S.E.A Experience, followed by a curated art tour led by the artist through some of his favourite Lagos galleries and concluding at ART X Lagos, in celebration of the fair’s tenth anniversary. ‘Wander Wonder’ evokes both movement and curiosity acting as an invitation to slow down, look closer, and experience art as both a path and a discovery. In conversation with GIDA, Dafe and Timilehin reflect on connection, freedom, and how spaces like dafe.cafe offer collective refuge—where artists can pause, question, and reimagine together. For Timilehin, whose work intertwines escapism, sound, and material research, dafe.cafe mirrors that same sense of openness: a space for experimentation and shared discovery. Freedom, he notes, is “a constant movement between forms, ideas, and emotions.” For more conversations like this follow @gidajournal or visit the link in our bio -

dafe.cafe invites you to Wander and Wonder into @timilehinoludare_ Timilehin Oludare Osanyintolu’s world of art: a presentation of the process of his practice, followed by drinks at one of his favourite galleries, and concluding at the ART X Lagos fair. Wander Wonder is a play on words that evoke both movement (wander) and curiosity or awe (wonder). It captures the essence of this event, a guided journey through visual and sound experiences that encourage participants to explore, reflect and feel. In this spirit of exploration, Osanyintolu’s mediums take centre as a way to create tangible, and at times even sensory, imagery of his unconscious practice. From the permanence of his penmanship to the relief of ink and water on paper, his works unfold as visual outcomes of an uncontrolled process. They move between Abstract Expressionism and Surrealism, which perhaps explains why he refers to himself as a material surrealist. This Event is in partnership with S.E.A Experience @s.ea.experience , MTN @mtnng , ART X Lagos @artxlagos , Uliuwa @uliuwa and Sachs Gallery @sachsgallery Limited slots available - link in bio to Book Now. We look forward to seeing you soon. Featured Artwork by @timilehinoludare_ Dance till what?(diptych) 2023/2024 Ink aerosol paint on acid free paper 16x32 inches

Who Is In The Garden opens to the public from June 12–15 at Pada Lagos @padalagos “This body of work recreates the experience of being transplanted into The Concept Space - a place where nature flows, serenity grows, and a meditative essence grounds time within the residence. Conceived during my residency in Accra, the series reflects a visual dialogue between shadow and reflection, stillness and essence. It will now be presented for the first time at Pada Lagos - a space that carries a similar energy to The Concept Space in Accra.” - Dafe Oboro @dafeoboro 🌿 This photography presentation also marks the launch of dafe.cafe - a new community initiative extending from dafe, created for artistic exchange and experimentation. Come by, say hello, and shop our set of limited-edition postcards - a little piece of the garden to take home. Opening Hours
Thursday & Friday: 11am – 6pm
Saturday & Sunday: 11am – 4pm Photography by @dafeoboro featuring @darkoherbert_ & @darkowelbert
