Born from a need for connection and creative exchange, dafe.cafe (
@heydafe ) exists as a living space between collaboration and personal practice. Founded by multidisciplinary artist and producer Dafe Oboro (
@dafeoboro ), the platform moves beyond labels of curating or producing, instead creating a rhythm of shared creativity through presentations, programming, and workshops.
This November 8, dafe.cafe will present a new project Wander Wonder, which features a presentation by artist and Ala Praxis founding member Timilehin Oludare Osanyintolu (
@timilehinoludare_ ) at S.E.A Experience, followed by a curated art tour led by the artist through some of his favourite Lagos galleries and concluding at ART X Lagos, in celebration of the fair’s tenth anniversary.
‘Wander Wonder’ evokes both movement and curiosity acting as an invitation to slow down, look closer, and experience art as both a path and a discovery.
In conversation with GIDA, Dafe and Timilehin reflect on connection, freedom, and how spaces like dafe.cafe offer collective refuge—where artists can pause, question, and reimagine together.
For Timilehin, whose work intertwines escapism, sound, and material research, dafe.cafe mirrors that same sense of openness: a space for experimentation and shared discovery. Freedom, he notes, is “a constant movement between forms, ideas, and emotions.”
