It was an absolute privilege to direct my first official music video for Jeremy Loops’ new song Coming Home featuring Ladysmith Black Mambazo. 🎥
Story Time:
Filming this video was planned in only 3 days. We got word that Ladysmith Black Mambazo had a 4 hour gap on Saturday morning before they had to hop on a plane out of Cape Town.
So we just had to hustle, pull all our resources together and pray that we had enough time to pull something half decent together. And more than anything, wholeheartedly trust the team of people around me.
On the day, everyone had to be present and perform at a very high level. We couldn’t afford to miss any shots.
Collaboration is so synonymous with filmmaking; the more videos I create and opportunities to work with incredible artists, the more I feel that. I’m truly blown away by the talent that was in that room on the day.
It was an honour to work with Jeremy Loops and Ladysmith Black Mambazo, South African treasures, with beautiful voices that are so rooted in the sound of Mzansi. 🇿🇦
Seeing the responses to this video, that it brings joy and feels nostalgic for South Africans, is more than I could ever ask for.✨
