Introducing Jade Paton.
Jade Paton is a South African artist working primarily in ceramics. Her practice draws inspiration from ancient vessels, natural forms, architecture, and contemporary design.
Through a hand-building process, she creates sculptural pieces that merge traditional references with a modern sensibility. Her work often contrasts raw, textured surfaces with refined lines or bold colour, exploring the tension between the elemental and the refined.
Paton is particularly interested in the domestic object - its symbolism, function, and emotional weight.
Recent explorations include working with wild clay and foraged pigments, deepening her connection to landscape and material.

With the streamlined, slender LYS, and the bulbous LARA, Ann Demeulemeester literally puts the flowers in the spotlight. The vase contains a rechargeable light source in its wooden base, illuminating the flowers from the inside.
The light not only passes through the glass and the water but also through the flower itself. This range of vases/lamps are performative even with a single well-chosen flower.
