It falls to him to unlock their door… A tragedy in the university halls throws his ailing relationship with his son into sharper relief; the possibility of losing his son is terrifying. Meanwhile, there are worrying indicators that the Caretaker’s son might be contemplating harming himself. Though they are living in the same house, they are complete strangers… The Caretaker can feel his son pulling away from him. Eventually, the Caretaker can no longer battle his emotions alone. In the final scene, he finds the bravery to open up to his son about and finally recognises how his son is struggling with his own happiness. I’m so thrilled to be working on a score for YAMAS!, a feature film by the incredibly-talented @rufus.love_ and @harryrichardsfilm of @headrushfilms . It’s been such a joy to spend the pre-production period getting to know (and love) Greek music (especially folk and traditional music) more deeply. It’s really important to me to honour and respect the incredible traditions of Greek music – and the many talented luthiers, composers, artists, and musicians who continue to carry it forward. Everyone I’ve met, both in Athens and London, has been so open and welcoming. One such person is George from @thebouzoukishop , a wonderful family-run business in Athens that makes and sells beautiful, handmade Greek instruments. 📷 @ryo.10pa , thank you for taking these photos.
