They say theres always two sides to every story, and I believe it. In the end, the thing is only whole once both sides have met. Plato tells us our other half is out there, both searching for each other. We are drawn in their direction, always. Two pieces hoping to align. We are of course metaphysically dualistic, but it seems that our intertwined lives are equally as dualistic. 6.2.17 - La Greppia
My first contemplations of duality began with the science of Light. Two separate forces balanced to create a beautifully universal thing, but completely altered through simple observation. Akin to Light, we also tend to alter when actively observed. Our balance is what makes us, us. Understanding what we aren’t is just as important as what we are, for we are both. Good & Evil. Material & Immaterial. Is & Isn’t. Light cannot be without Darkness. 3.28.24 - Hamamoto
I started a series on Light Fixtures many years ago, collecting the most interesting ones during my travels. I wanted to shift my perspective from how we all view them, to one not so typical. To my surprise, I grew a deeper appreciation for the artistic design of how we present Light. For those that have witnessed, I thank you for your patience and understanding in those moments of discovery. 10.28.22 - Philadelphia Airport, Terminal D
