MY RUGBY JOURNEY WEEK 3
Session 2 Coach Tom
@peakrugbyacademy
Being an American expat in Hong Kong, I am quite clueless about rugby to be honest. But two years ago I decided to support my young son and his passion for rugby by volunteer coaching his local youth rugby team, HKFC. I always felt frustrated after every practice and game because I want to understand rugby more thoroughly especially all the rules. Naturally, all the Aussie & Kiwi Dads knew more but I’m no longer going to make any excuses.
I’ve done by best to pick up as much as possible in the last few years but in the end the absolute best way to learn something in my opinion is to dive in head first.
Baptism by fire.
This is my rugby journey as a single mom and coach.
I’m learning to pass, catch, side step, tackle, kick and learn all the seemingly endless amounts of rules and penalties. The yellow cards and whistles are still slightly confusing.
Thanks Coach Tom for your patience, knowledge and encouragement.
