This is about slowing down and noticing every detail. The weight of a silver tumbler in your hand. The way the aroma opens. The way each dram changes when paired with cheese. The way it feels. You’ll be guided through five whiskies by an expert ambassador, each one chosen for its character and story. The final moment? Tasting from handcrafted silver tumblers that transform the entire experience. The Scotch Malt Whisky Society began in 1983 with a small group of friends in Edinburgh sharing single cask whisky. Today, they are a global community of over 41,000 members, still driven by discovery, flavour and the joy of sharing something special. I’ve been working on ideas for new work over the last few weeks as well as my range of jewellery stock. Looking forward to @craftinfocus RHS Wisley next week and continuing onto @cranecourtgallery for London Craft Week afterwards.

The Art of Craft - A showcase of makers in metalworking, woodworking, blacksmithing, glassblowing, weaving and Verre églomisé. Join us at Crane Court Gallery on Friday 25th April at 5pm for an exclusive first look. Craft encompasses many aspects of art, design and functionality, it can be minimalist and maximalist, it can tell a story and create conversation, it can educate and inspire. The essence of all craft though is the presence of the hand of the maker. This can be overt with marks made in clay through pressure and gesture or almost imperceptible with objects formed in metal and silver appearing almost too perfect to have been shaped by hand. The exhibition runs from 25th April - 30th May, Tuesday-Friday 12-6pm - or by appointment. The exhibition will be open Monday 12th May – Sunday 18th May, 12-6pm for Craft Week. A Goldsmiths’ Fair like no other this year. A massive thanks to the staff at the Hall and Fair organisers, my two wonderful assistants Amber and Richard for helping me function and my two stand neighbours Katie and Aki. The run up to Goldsmith’s Fair this year has been the most exciting type of chaos as my wife Hannah and I welcomed our first child, Samuel, in the wee hours of the 26th September. His punctuality may need some work as he was two weeks overdue! Mum and baby are both doing so well and we are very much enjoying adjusting to our new life as a family of three. I will be attending the private views on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday while spending as much time as the Fair as possible the other opening times. When new family responsibilities mean I can’t be there, I have two fantastic helpers Amber and Richard who will be delighted to show you the new jewellery collection and beakers I have been working on. I look forward to seeing you all there and in the future introducing you to my son. Hamish

This is the first time in a while I will have some of my smaller beakers available to purchase. They have always been popular but have sat on the back burner in my head as they become a bit more refined.
