@angela_cork and I are absolutely thrilled to have received a Gold Award for Craftsmanship for our recent collaborative project at the prestigious Goldsmiths’ Craft and Design Council Awards at Merchant Taylors’ Hall last night. It was such a lovely evening celebrating the extraordinary talent across our industry! This recognition feels especially meaningful, as the Emberstone Vessels mark the first pieces we have made together in precious metals. While we have known each other for nearly ten years, much of our work has centred on championing silversmithing and promoting the craft through initiatives such as the FIVE Collective. For this collaboration, Angela meticulously crafted the vessel forms entirely by hand, while I developed the surfaces through my signature texturing and gold fusion. Our Emberstone Vessels received the Gold Award in 3D Craft – Senior Silversmith’s Craft (sponsored by @grant_macdonald_london ) and the Silver Award in 3D Design – Silversmithing. We were also delighted to receive the Gold Award alongside @alewijnslingerland . The three of us came through @bishopsland_educational_trust at different stages, so it felt especially special to celebrate the moment together! Together, the works represent ten artists, bringing together all current and past artists involved in the Collective to date.
