Introducing Halim Flowers ( @halimflowers ), the latest subject of Ben Fine’s Pink Armchair Portraits @pinkarmchairportraits , created alongside journalist Tris McCall(@trismccall_nj ) during their residency @project14c ect
Halim Flowers is an American artist and writer who began painting after serving more than twenty years in prison for a conviction as a teenager. Released under the Incarceration Reduction Amendment Act, his work now speaks to transformation, resilience, and creative freedom, and is exhibited internationally.
The aim of the Pink Armchair Portraits is not only to paint a likeness, but to bring each sitter’s presence, voice, and story into the frame.
The new series will be presented the weekend of May 8–10 at Arts 14C.
Step into the studio and experience the work from the residency as a layered exploration of human connection.
