. I had the pleasure of sitting down with @Forbes to talk about my news series, "Give Us Our Flowers." . My work exists because my community excite me. As an artist, it is important to listen to their stories. These works show strength, resilience in families that are rarely celebrated. The intention is to celebrate and give people recognition, love, respect everyday, Too often we wait to honor people when they are gone, we should be saluting and toasting the people in our lives today and give them their flowers on this side, while we can. Giving also makes the giver feel good. It has been said it is better to give than to receive not just at one time of the year. The paintings are appreciation and giving flowers now to incredible people @forbes . ✍️ @stephtharpe . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . #portrait #artist #harlem #nyc #privatecollection #collection #collector #giveusourflowers💐 #piggy #contemporaryart #mondernart #oilpainting #philoche #rebeccamichelman #kidshavingfun #portraitpainting #rebeccamichelman #artmuseum #blackart #artcollector #fartcurator #artgalleries #harlemart #moma #india #afroamerican #afroamericanart #artcollectors #artcollective #masterpiece #africancontemporaryart . . @tanyaweddemiregallery @bruceluriegallery @virgilcatherinegallery @dcolabellafineartgallery

. Thank you @archdigest . Guy Stanley Philoche’s new body of works, Higher Learning, extends his acclaimed Give Us Our Flowers body of work into an explicit goal on the promise of education. Through thoughtful composition and symbolic details, he insists that every child deserves a clear path to education, confidence, and feeling like they belong. . Higher Learning It’s more important than ever to support our kids and uplift higher education—especially now, when their futures are under threat and our history is being erased. This painting is part of Guy’s new body of work from his Give Us Our Flowers series. In this chapter, he shines a light on the power of higher learning—affirming that our children not only deserve access to education, but protection from the systems trying to silence their potential. This piece is a reminder: our children are never too young to dream big. When we invest in their education, we invest in the future of our entire community. Supporting higher learning isn’t just about college— It’s about showing our kids they belong in every room. It’s about planting seeds early: Morehouse, Spelman, Howard, Harvard, Yale— Not just as institutions, but securing their legacy . 📸 @zspopediting . #higherlearning #educación #kids #dream #hbcu @morehouse1867 @spelmanmuseum @spelman_college @howard1867 @yale @nyuniversity @Syracuse

Need weekend plans? New York Art Week is happening right now and you don’t want to miss it! First up, hit @christiesinc at 20 Rockefeller Plaza to see some of the classics: Picasso , Andy Warhol , Basquiat and more! These will all be up for auction next week, so make sure you lay eyes on them before they’re gone! • Next, head to Harlem to see one of my favorite artists—a fellow Haitian American— @guystanleyphiloche He’s fresh off of a sold out show in Chicago and his work is currently on display at @gallerygpg (345 E 104th). “While They Are Here” is a part of his “Give Us Our Flowers” series and totally worth your while! • Then, we’ve got @tefaf - The European Fine Art Foundation. My favorite booth was without a doubt Gagosian’s “Bad Fruit” series. You need to go to this fair, because if you miss it here you’ll have to catch ‘em in the Netherlands! • Lastly, head to @154artfair This fair is a culmination of a number of emerging African and Afro-Latinx artists, so you know I was keen on seeing this! And it did not disappoint! • If you are interested in purchasing some collectibles, exploring emerging artists, or learning more about art and art curation, you should definitely check these shows out THIS WEEKEND! • And of course, you should also check out @friezeofficial which is happening in Hudson Yards this year; as well as @studiomuseum in Harlem, which always has thought-provoking exhibits.

. From Haiti to Sotheby’s — my latest painting, Little Ingrid, is officially up for auction in support of the Queens Museum. This piece is about pride, presence, and the power of being seen. This little girl would grow up to help change the wine industry. Today, we honor and give flowers to Ingrid Best — a visionary whose leadership continues to open doors and redefine what representation in wine looks like. It’s only fitting that South Africa — a region rich in history, excellence, and innovation — is the first wine region we launch for the brand. Give us our flowers. Guy Stanley Philoche Little Ingrid, 2026 Mixed media on canvas Unframed: 40 x 30 inches Framed: 44 x 34 x 2 1/2 inches . @queensmuseum @gallerygpg @ms_ibest @sothebys

. One of the best feelings is when one of your favorite collectors stops by for a private viewing of your show. Thank you, @garcelle , for your ongoing support. . While They Are Here" art exhibit for my "Give Us Our Flowers" series, moments in time and legends who broke barriers are captured by the Harlem native: A mother waiting with her child at a bus stop, a little boy jumping with joy over a fire hydrant on a nice summer day, and a little girl with beautiful almond-shaped eyes wearing diamond studs earrings and cute rain boots draw you in. Heroes like James Baldwin and creative architects like Virgil Abloh are celebrated in lifelike portraits. At a time when people are doing everything they can to silence us and make sure we are not seen, Guy Stanley Philoche reminds us we are special and deserve to be celebrated. It was an honor to see everyone at the launch of this exhibit in a room filled with friends and family loving on one another. and check me out on the cover of @ambassador_mag "While They Are Here" is on view through June 13 at GPG Gallery, 345 E104 St. Please go see it if you can. It will lift your spiriter

. Do you see us now? This piece found a home—one rooted in history, standing in the heart of a community that deserves to see itself every single day. When I created Give Us Our Flowers, it was never just about the canvas. It was about making space. About amplifying voices that too often go unheard. About telling stories that have always mattered. The Fifth Ward. Black kids. Black stories. Not overlooked. Not erased. Seen. Heard. Honored. Thank you @soulandsmoke and @heatherbublick for choosing to share this work with the public—creating a space where your community can experience it, reflect, and enjoy a meal together. . . #kids #community #giveusourflowers #doyouseeusnow

Our building is rooted in history. Our story is connected to our community. When we first experienced the “Give Us Our Flowers” series by @guystanleyphiloche and heard him speak about using his work to amplify underrepresented voices, we knew his art belonged in this space. “Do you see us now?” Black kids. The Fifth Ward. Black pitmasters. The meaning is endless when you’re committed to giving voice to those too often overlooked. We’re proud to bring this piece into our restaurant—and we can’t wait to open our doors and share it with our community.
