Pop Edits Vol. 5 is an official Boycott Room Alternative Party
The Boycott:
Boiler Room is throwing parties in NYC on July 11-12. Their parent company, KKR, is a private equity firm that holds extensive investments in land occupation, climate catastrophe, and israelâs current and ongoing genocide of Palestinians. Boycott Room is calling for nyc party-goers to stand in solidarity with the international, grassroots-led call to boycott all KKR events & festivals (including & beyond Boiler Room).
As an official Boycott Room Alternative Party weâre donating all promoter proceeds to a Palestinian family rebuilding after violent settler attacks (link in bio and we will be collecting donations at the door), and we invite you to contribute, show up, and stand in solidarity with us.
TONIGHT 7-9pm tune in for a special @grid.nyc radio session with @djwawa_ on @8ballradio
from performing at several NYC parties through the years, to building and curating new listening spaces in Brooklyn and beyond, Wawa has been a longstanding part of NYCâs underground electronic scene. a thoughtful selector with a deep love for vinyl, they will treat your ears through this transmission đ±
THIS SATURDAY @honeysbrooklyn weâre celebrating the release of Kam Min Janneh, the new album from Haykal, Acamol, and Julmud.
Haykal and Acamol will present a live performance of their vanguard contemporary interpretation of various living musical traditions in the Arab world, produced and envisaged from within the soundscapes of Palestine.
Creating an album that reflects the urgency of the years of its making, a call to break away from the current world, and a call to militate towards its unmaking, Haykalâs verses veer between rich and humorous, agitational, and frustrated, while Acamolâs and Julmudâs compositions lay the infrastructural basis for an emergent sound declaring the cracks and twitches in the muscles of the colonized and disfigured at verge of a ceremonial eruption.
The album is presented by @bilnaes_ Â - a record label and publishing platform designed to hold space for artistic communities in Palestine and beyond.
Tickets in bio!
