After feeling discontent with the contemporary art market, Britt Reilly shifted focus to immersive, participatory art that transcends monetary transactions. Her passion for experiential projects and preserving Pittsburgh’s creative history inspired her to champion local stories and connect them to wider audiences. Since then, Britt has fine-tuned her mission to support art that resonates deeply, not just as possessions but as experiences. “I want to put my time and work where it’s going to reach people in a way that can be experienced and not necessarily possessed.” ICYMI, check out our latest conversation with Britt at the link in our bio. @aaronelderoygruber @pittsburghmoderncommittee @mmodernpatternn @hongkongtrees @Callingbird 📷 @sheharazad 📷 @lisabutterworth @rscheinespresents @is.mink #preservation #modernism #art

DayGlo Aurora Pink walls, Plexiglas sculptures, and a passion for preservation—Britt Reilly redefines creative living. As the Executive Director of the Irving & Aaronel deRoy Gruber Foundation, Britt bridges modernist design with historic architecture, turning spaces into stories. From collaborating with global artists to converting a 1930s building into a personal masterpiece, her work celebrates innovation and nostalgia. We invite you to step away from the #thanksgiving table and feast your eyes on some of the most beautiful images you’ll ever see of Plexiglas sculptures while discovering Britt’s take on wanderlust, preservation, and the beauty of creative discontent. You can thank us later. 🌟 Link in bio. 📷 by: Reagan West-Whitman Amy Fisher Sheharazad Fleming @lisabutterworth @sheharazad 📷 @rscheinespresents @is.mink @aaronelderoygruber @pittsburghmoderncommittee @mmodernpatternn @hongkongtrees @callingbirdphotography 📷 @plexiglas_theoriginal #art #design #artistcurator #preservation

“I wanted to support artists, and I saw this opportunity: How might I help ensure that their idea is arriving to a public audience in a way that is cultivated and supported by clear communication and production? I tried to be that role in various projects and studios.” Watch this space for our conversation with Pittsburgh-based artist curator and preservationist Britt Reilly… coming soon. #art #design #artistcurator #preservation @lisabutterworth @sheharazad @rscheinespresents @aaronelderoygruber @pittsburghmoderncommittee @mmodernpatternn @hongkongtrees Photo by @callingbirdphotography

“When I pivoted to the Freelancers Union, I thought I was going to take the first few months to learn the day-to-day of being an executive director. But I took on the job two weeks before the pandemic struck. I quickly had to put my political hat back on to think about how we deliver for the millions of independent workers who now have no access to benefits? To help them deal with the fact that their work has dried up?” Watch this space for our conversation with community organizer and artists rights advocate Rafael Espinal, coming soon. “I spend a lot of time telling stories to kids, and people who used to be kids, letting them know that no matter how small they feel, they have something very big to give and that no matter how much you don’t feel like you belong at the table, you do. I tell the stories that I needed as a kid, and that I need now.” ICYMI, check out our latest conversation with @bradmontague at the link in our bio. #joy #failabration #picturebooks #wondertruck @montagueworkshop Story by @lisabutterworth

“Joy too often is talked about in terms that seem soft and fluffy. When it is actually the most rebellious thing, it is able to exist even where happiness is not. It is a thing that can defy math. Joy can create more joy and create more joy—it’s generative in that way.” - Brad Montague Next week, we’ll be sharing our latest conversation with the illustrator, author, and storyteller @bradmontague . STAY TUNED. #illustration #failabration #joy
