When you forgive someone, who is it really for? At the Imagine Summit, @missjullyblack reminded us that forgiveness is a gift we give ourselves. Thank you, Jully, for pouring into the 500 creatives at the summit that day! Your message struck a chord with so many in the room, leaving a lasting impact.🩵 _________________________________________ The Imagine Summit is one of Canada's largest mental wellness and professional development events, providing access for equity-deserving creatives and entrepreneurs seeking to overcome mental barriers such as anxiety, fear, and trauma. This clip was taken at the 3rd annual event. #enterimagination #mentalhealthawareness #anxiety #healing #entrepreneur #wellness

We are grateful! The 2024 Imagine Summit was made possible by the incredible support of our community and sponsors. Together, we created a transformative space for 750 equity-deserving creatives and entrepreneurs to confront mental blocks, unearth hidden traumas, and explore the healing power of sound and visualization exercises. With the generosity of our sponsors, participants connected with Canada’s top creative leaders for honest conversations about thriving in a metrics-driven industry while prioritizing mental well-being. These discussions sparked breakthroughs, offering tools and strategies to overcome challenges and redefine success. More than an event, the summit empowered creatives to imagine new possibilities, advancing our mission of fostering a sustainable, inclusive creative ecosystem. Thank you; @jamarjniice and founder @domagrant for co-hosting, sharing your journey to digital wellness @exceptional_essence of @unilever , @tylertasson of @amazongmusiccan and Emma Barnett of @factorcanada for speaking on our Digital Wellness and Finding Purpose panel. You all shared honest insights on how social media should be perceived, the importance of financial literacy for creatives and so much more. @missJullyBlack , for inspiring us to ask for help and encouraging us to listen to our bodies during our fireside chat about success, grief, and sustainability. @amandadorenberg for sharing your story about overcoming a rare condition, starting fresh, uncovering mental clarity, and becoming a global CEO. @TheHoneyJam artists @christina.smith , @marleyunknxn and @sofinari , for your excellent performances! “ Mom we made The Financial Post” … We’re celebrating our founder @domagrant for her courage and for becoming one of Canada’s Top 100 Most Powerful Women. Thank you @financialpost and @wxnetwork “This year my biggest win has been choosing courage over strength. Breaking the armour that the world has created for women that make us operate in hard strength, instead of compassionate courage. Since I was young strength has been ingrained in who I was taught to be as a woman, and as a person of colour. For so many of us it’s our courage that helps us show up everyday and face the glass ceilings above us. I wrote my EP QUEEN/DOM to explore the journey to claiming our crown as a woman. I wanted to use my album to create healing spaces for my fans that would allow us to explore generational healing, forgiveness and our own self-empowerment. The truth? My Jamaican mother who immigrated to Canada and supported my dream, made me promise her that if she supported my dream of being an artist, that I needed to make impact on and off stage, in the communities of little girls who wouldn’t have this same opportunity. I channeled my courage into music and my adversity into my own education of communities around the world, like Alexandra Park the one that I grew up in. I went to school. In my 3rd year I was selected for an internship in Uganda. This internship would bless me with a life changing experience of living in East Africa and working for an organization that blended the arts and wellness. I quit my part time job, with less than $500 in my bank account, to pursue music full time and to start my social enterprise @grantcreativity / @imagiinlab ( please follow). My company creates spaces for creatives, underserved youth and gender diverse BIPOC women, to imagine beyond the limits of their environment. I’m so grateful and excited to share what’s next with you all”. xox @domagrant

A big thank you to @lululemon and @thehoneyjam for inviting the Grant Creativity team to facilitate this inspirational day of music, meditation, visualization and self-care. When thinking about beginning your wellness journey, it can be really important to choose to integrate self-love, self-care and meditation into your creative journey, it can transform everything. One of the best ways to let go of old narratives and beliefs that don’t serve you are to replace them with new ones. You can’t manifest new things, while stuck on the old. On August 13th, we spent the day with Honey Jam artists, working with them to imagine the biggest version of their lives and releasing the fear that often tells creatives and entrepreneurs to play small. Thanks for an amazing day of imagination, self-care and mindfulness, and to all of the beautiful artists that participated 💙 #lululemon #honeyjam #wellness #visualization #meditation #selfcare #music

As creatives and entrepreneurs, we often get caught up in where we think we should be in our careers, forgetting to embrace and celebrate where we are now. Don’t forget to stop and smell the roses every once in a while and appreciate how far you’ve come. Because at one point, you probably never imagined you’d get here either 💙. #quote #creative #entrepreneur #celebrate #journey #inspiration #growthmindset

Type NEW STORY if you’re ready to give back a story that isn’t yours... (full video on youtube LINK IN PROFILE) We live in a world where people will create a story for you before you’ve had time to write your own narrative. So here’s mine. I’m an award winning singer/ songwriter, Entrepreneur and Speaker, that struggled with the education system. when I was six years old I was told that I had a “learning disability”. I was taken out of regular classes and put into what teachers called special ones. So I developed two ideas. The first idea, a subconscious belief that I wasnt good enough. The second idea, was that I had people in my corner who believed that this narrative wasn’t mine to keep. So I focused on writing my own story and reprogramming my belief system using visualization and by studying habits of successful people through free resources on YouTube. I found @evancarmichael and his top 10 series and watched 1 episode everyday. I was introduced to @thelesbrown trentsheldon @brendonbouchard the stories of @tarajiphenson @tylerperry @oprah @lisabilyeu and more. In high school teachers said I would never graduate and I graduated. When I got accepted to university, the same teachers said I’d never make it through, and I graduated with honours. I received my first humanitarian award at 21 years old and today I’m an award winning singer/ songwriter, entrepreneur and founder of @grantcreativity I help people in transform their lives and master their imagination through my agency @grantcreativity and The Imagine Summit presented by @rbc Little six year old me would have never imagined this until I expanded my imagination. People will write a narrative for you that has nothing to do with you and I want to remind you that your only job is to focus on the vision that you have for yourself, because it wasn’t given to anyone else and the world needs your brilliance.
