I want to say this directly to you.
This is for those who have been part of the WXN Top 100, those putting a name forward, the women being nominated, and the organizations behind them.
This moment matters more than you think.
Being named one of Canada’s Most Powerful Women: Top 100 is not just an award. It’s a shift in how you are seen. It’s a level of credibility that stays with you and carries into rooms you haven’t even entered yet.
I say that as a two-time recipient. And every year, I tell our winners one thing: It truly is a gift that keeps on giving. If you’re a Top 100 reading this today, you know exactly what I mean!
At the time, you don’t fully understand it. You think it’s a moment. Something you celebrate and move on from. But you don’t move on from it.
It becomes part of how you are known. Part of your identity as a leader, which is why this part matters.
If you’ve started a nomination and haven’t finished it, go back and complete it. A nomination left unfinished is not just a missed step. It’s a missed opportunity to fully recognize the impact of a woman whose work deserves to be seen at the highest level.
Who are you putting forward?
And for those across organizations reading this, I’ll ask you the same question.
Who are you putting forward from within your leadership?
This platform has never been about volume. It’s about standard. And that standard is upheld by the care behind every single submission. For more than 20 years, it has set the benchmark for recognizing professional women in Canada.
There is still time to finish what you started or to put a name forward if someone has been on your mind.
Don’t let this be the moment you look back on and wish you had followed through.

With heavy hearts, we share the passing of one of our very own Top 100 winners, Dr. Juliet Daniel, a remarkable scientist, mentor, and deeply valued member of our community.
Recognized as one of Canada’s Most Powerful Women: Top 100 Award Winners in 2020 in the Science and Technology category, Juliet’s impact extended far beyond her groundbreaking work in breast cancer research. She was a champion for others, opening doors, lifting voices, and shaping the next generation with care and conviction. As a cherished part of the WXN community, we are so grateful for the example she set, not only in what she achieved but in how she showed up for others.
We hold her family, colleagues, and all those she impacted in our thoughts, and we honour the legacy she leaves behind.
