Between the 25th and 28th of June, we’ll be welcoming comic book creators from around the world to Macclesfield in Cheshire, with a jam-packed festival. From film screenings and premieres, to workshops, signings, songs, a town hall bursting with nearly 80 amazing creators from around the world, and not one… not two… but THREE exhibitions. This years programme is our most rich and diverse one yet… if you think you know comics, then be prepared to discover even more! Our continued partnership with them helps to grow our event as we continue to support more creators from the world of comic art. Today’s guest spotlight starts with @lew.stringer the first person we asked to be a guest back in 2015 back when @maccpowcomicartfestival was taking shape! Lew received a special ‘Legend in cartooning’ award last year, and we can’t wait to see him again this year! Next up is @davidleach01 who as well as celebrating 40 years in comics, will be hosting a fun ‘How to draw Henry’s Cat’ workshop, highlighting his first published work all those years ago. @catdrawerjim is back with us this year, bringing his unique approach to tabling at a show, and his wonderful work also featured in the new issue of @goof_comic ! The mighty Johnny Ryan returns to @goof_comic this Summer with another comic featuring Bunny Boy! Johnny’s the co-creator of the cartoon Pig Goat Banana Cricket, and has created strips for Nickleodeon mag in the early 00s, he also was one of the writers on the recent Looney Tunes film!
