This post hits a lot closer to home. It is SUCH an honor to be featured in @latimes with my parents! My family has been in the city of Compton since 1962. My parents met at the legendary Compton High School where they went to school with future legends in the making. I saw the same greatness around me as I graduated from Dominguez High with future legends from my generation. It’s no question that I come from a long lineage of creatives and entrepreneurs. Both sides of my family are from the city. As an observer of the Compton culture, I can tell you stories about your favorite Compton creative because of the relationships I’ve built with not only those in the spotlight, but our next generation of emerging creatives. Taking it back even further, my grandmother and parents could tell you about the families of these future legends before they were even born! When I say my roots run deep in Compton, I mean really deep. I know so much about Compton culture and history because I lived it and still live it. My family still lives it, and my grandmother still lives it. To me, WHO tells the story is just as important as the story itself. As a gallerist, curator, creative and leader from West Compton, I take immense pride in telling the future stories of our community through various mediums such as film, fine arts, architecture & design and much more. Another reason why I’m passionate about bringing a large scale museum exclusively to the greatest city in the world…My city. Compton. Thank you @latimes for highlighting my family and all of Compton’s greatness. Just a West Compton creative 💡 Link in bio 👆🏾

This is truly an ode to the culture — a love letter from the culture. 🫶🏽 It started after exhibiting @friezeofficial two years in a row. @therealgolden47 would always come out, support, and visit my booth — which meant a lot. She’s one of the most kind-hearted and supportive people I know ❤️ Later that year, I was catching up with @lorenlorosa — host of The Breakfast Club — talking about her transition from TMZ and how genuinely happy I was for her. That’s when she told me about her love, admiration, and inspiration for the show Girlfriends. Then I started thinking… Girlfriends is coming up on 25 years. How do we celebrate and amplify that? We shouldn’t have to wait for entities outside the culture to honor us. We are the culture — and we should be the ones doing the honoring 💭 Then I thought: what would it look like if the cast of Girlfriends, and Loren LoRosa— who was not only heavily inspired by the show but a true superfan — had the opportunity to connect to the arts by selecting works based on the themes of the show? Sisterhood, love, identity, career, growth. 💭💡 But I already had the curatorial idea for Iconic Visions — a series that puts iconic and legendary figures from creative spaces like entertainment, sports, and beyond into the role of curator. It gives you the rare opportunity to experience what an exhibition would look like if it wasn’t about them — but instead featured artworks that speak to them, that they admire, or that move them in a personal way ✨ This 25th anniversary tribute exhibition is just that. Thank you, @kailynhype , and @latimes for an amazing story. You already know — thank you for all that you do. Moving the culture forward. 🫡 Thank you, @jason_armond , for capturing such cool moments. To my partner and co-founder of @dcdg.co — and truly the best partner in the world — @delannii . We’re really building something special together, and I feel like we’re walking down a legendary path. Funniest part? We both showed up to the shoot in suit jackets — completely unplanned. 😂🤷🏾‍♂️ Thank you to our partners @thelinehotel 🏨

Honored to be invited as a guest speaker for the Convergence + Diversity Salon Series, alongside an incredible lineup of creatives, executives, filmmakers, and innovators shaping the future of culture across entertainment, technology, music, gaming, AI, design, and storytelling. Looking forward to sharing space with Oren Davidson of @creativeartistsagency ✨ Founder & Executive Producer @chrishanebutt ✨ Sheila Marmon of @mirrordigital ✨ Justin Polk of @invisiblecollective_ ✨ Amanda Coker of @lionsgate ✨ Guy Primus of @thevrcompany.in ✨ Artist & CoFounder @kaacollective @daveyoungkim ✨ Writer/Director Jasmine Ogunjimi ✨ Moderators Yu Vaughn & Emi Kamemoto of @disney ✨ As someone whose work exists at the intersection of fine art, hospitality, television and film, cultural programming, artist development, and brand collaboration, I’m always inspired by rooms where different industries collide and meaningful conversations happen. From curating exhibitions connected to motion picture films, to building artist residencies, to creating experiences that merge art, culture, design, music, and storytelling, this type of dialogue is important for where culture is headed next. Excited for the conversation, the exchange of ideas, and the opportunity to connect with some brilliant people pushing culture forward. Thursday, May 14 7:00pm – 9:00pm Link in Bio 💭

I’ve been juggling a few projects, so popping out to events is rare. 😩 When I do, I’m never in one place for too long. 🤷🏾‍♂️ If you see me, say hi. 👋🏾🖖🏾💭

I thought about doing a big year end post carousel, but it started to feel like too much. This year spoke for itself. 🥂 I’m genuinely thankful for the artists, institutions, collaborators, and new friends I had the chance to work alongside. Every collaboration inspired me in different ways, and I don’t take any of those moments or opportunities for granted. To everyone tagged here you already know. Thank you for the trust, the conversations, the creativity, and the energy. 🫡 As I head into 2026, there are some meaningful things in motion and some really big, exciting announcements on the way. A lot is pending, and I’m looking forward to sharing more when the time is right. Wishing everyone a safe, peaceful, and strong New Year. Always grateful. Always building. ✨🖖🏾

This past Saturday, we had the privilege of partnering with @villaaurorala , and @studios_3026 to host a powerful conversation at Santa Monica Art Studios. It was an inspiring moment for @dcdg.co , and we’re grateful to everyone who helped bring this program to life. A special thank you to Rebecca Racine Ramershoven @rebecca_racine_ramershoven Villa Aurora Fellow, whose research and perspective grounded the conversation with such intention. Deep appreciation to our brilliant panelists: ✨ Dominique Clayton @lookatdominique of @dominique.gallery a visionary curator and cultural strategist whose work continues to deepen the dialogue around Black art and storytelling. ✨ Evan Nicole Brown @evaninwonderland independent culture writer and Managing Editor at @contemporaryartreview.la , whose clarity and insight enriched the discussion in meaningful ways. Major thank you to my partner and DCDG & Co. co-founder, @delannii who moderated the conversation and did an amazing job. 🫡 DCDG & Co. has had a long-standing relationship with Villa Aurora, and it was meaningful to build on that history alongside partners equally committed to cultural exchange and artist-centered programming. We’re excited for more conversations like this as we continue creating spaces that connect communities and creative practices across borders. Thank you again to @villaaurorala , @studios_3026 ❤️ This is the first of many conversations to come. ✨ 📸 @mvkiato 🫡
