๐Ÿ“ธ #FlashbackFriday to last week when Claudia Herbert Colfer, Head of Programming at UN Global Compact Network USA, spoke on the โ€œMission-Driven Markets: Climate, Land and Impactโ€ panel at the @Forbes Summit alongside Nuha Siddiqui, Founder of Erthos, and Aidan Reilly, Co-Founder of the @farmlinkproject . ๐ŸŒฟ This panel explored the realities behind โ€œdoing well by doing good,โ€ including the trade-offs, decisions, and moments that define whether a mission translates into measurable results. Participants also heard candid reflections on what it takes to build credibility early on and how broader systems, partnerships, and market structures can either accelerate or limit impact. ๐Ÿค This session offered a grounded look at how mission, market, and execution come together to create long-term resilience and drive meaningful and lasting impact.

๐Ÿ’ก At a time when sustainability is increasingly tied to business performance and competitive positioning, the 2026 Sustainability Integration Program cohort came together in New York City to focus on a core challenge: how to move from ambition to integrationโ€”embedding sustainability into decision-making, operations, and long-term strategy.ย  Here are a few highlights โžก๏ธย  ๐Ÿ”ธAmy Skoczlas Cole (NYU Stern Center for Sustainable Business) kicked off the program by exploring what it takes to move sustainability from a standalone initiative to an integrated business practiceโ€”grounded in how companies actually operate.ย  ๐Ÿ”ธParticipants shared their own sustainability priorities and approaches, creating space for real-time exchange on whatโ€™s working, where challenges remain, and how strategies are evolving across industries.ย  ๐Ÿ”ธPeer learning sessions reinforced the value of candid dialogue, enabling companies to learn directly from one anotherโ€™s experiences, trade-offs, and practical solutions.ย  ๐Ÿ”ธA visit to the @UnitedNations Headquarters connected company-level action to broader global frameworks, grounding the work in the wider sustainability agenda.ย  ๐Ÿ”ธThe program closed with a fireside chat hosted by @bakermckenzie_na , exploring what it takes to make sustainability stick inside a business, from internal alignment to execution at scale.ย  ๐Ÿ“ˆ๐ŸŒฑ What stood out most: sustainability is no longer operating at the margins. Companies are approaching it as a driver of business value, resilience, and competitive advantageโ€”reflected in the growing recognition that sustainability is directly linked to growth and stronger financial performance. ๐ŸŒ๐Ÿค๐Ÿป Equally clear is that integration doesnโ€™t happen in isolation. Bringing companies together in a trusted, peer-driven environment remains one of the most effective ways to translate strategy into action.ย  ๐ŸŒŸ Thank you to our speakers and participants for their insights and energetic discussions! We look forward to continuing these conversations with you.

๐Ÿ‘ฅ๐Ÿ’ผ Last week during @sfclimateweek , we convened sustainability leaders from small- and medium-sized companies (SMEs) for an intimate roundtable discussion focused on navigating supply chain decarbonization from the ground up and exploring what's working, what isn't, and where companies should focus next to ensure long-term resilience and growth. Here are a few takeaways:ย  ๐Ÿ”น๐… While emissions tracking remains foundational, SMEs in particular need practical, accessible pathways to turn data into action. Simplified standards, inclusive frameworks, and affordable tools are critical to reducing barriers and enabling broader participation. External pressures from customers and investorsโ€”alongside peer benchmarking and evolving global market dynamicsโ€”are increasingly shaping organizational sustainability priorities. At the same time, organizations are driven to invest in climate initiatives when there is clear financial value through cost savings, revenue opportunities, market access, or reduced risk. Together, these forces are redefining climate action as both a competitive necessity and a business strategy. ๐Ÿ”น๐‚๐จ๐ฅ๐ฅ๐š๐›๐จ๐ซ๐š๐ญ๐ข๐จ๐ง ๐š๐ง๐ ๐„๐ง๐š๐›๐ฅ๐ž๐ฆ๐ž๐ง๐ญ ๐€๐ซ๐ž ๐ญ๐ก๐ž ๐๐ž๐ฐ ๐Œ๐จ๐๐ž๐ฅ๐ฌ ๐Ÿ๐จ๐ซ ๐’๐ฎ๐ฉ๐ฉ๐ฅ๐ฒ ๐‚๐ก๐š๐ข๐ง ๐ˆ๐ฆ๐ฉ๐š๐œ๐ญ Decarbonizing supply chains requires moving beyond compliance-driven relationships toward active supplier enablement and cross-sector collaboration. Equipping suppliers with shared tools and solutions strengthens resilience and accelerates emissions reductions across value chains. Collective action and industry collaboration are essential to scale impact. โœจ Thank you to our roundtable participants for driving a rich, engaging dialogue and sharing insightful perspectives. We hope to continue these conversations with you in future events. Stay tuned by subscribing to our Newsletter, link in bio!

๐Ÿ€๐ŸŒŽ What if the biggest W a stadium deliversโ€ฆ isnโ€™t on the scoreboard? Earlier this week, @globalcompactusa co-hosted an event with the @usgbc and the @greensportsalliance that brought together sustainability professionals to discuss the intersection of sport and sustainability before heading inside the arena for an exclusive behind-the-scenes tour of the Chase Center. Here are some key takeaways: While frameworks and certifications (like FIFA or LEED) often initiate action, leading venues are moving beyond compliance and recognizing sustainability as a lever for competitive advantage, cost savings, risk mitigation, and stronger positioning in event bidding. Partnerships play a major role in both revenue generation and implementation but real success happens at the operational level. Venues, sponsors, and vendors are increasingly interconnected, using their influence to set expectations across the value chain, from procurement standards to fan experience. Waste, transportation, and infrastructure are key areas where venues can drive measurable impact today. At the same time, embedding sustainability into design, materials, and year-round venue use ensures long-term resilience and community value. Thank you to our panelists Monica Thilges (@aptim_solutions ), Stephanie Hallinan (US Green Building Council), and Jacqueline Zuhoski (@Gensler ) for their incredible insights and to our attendees for their engagement and energetic discussions!

This week, UN Global Compact Network USA participating companies gathered in Copenhagen for The Climate Action Platform: Driving Peer Learning and Action on Corporate Climate Strategiesโ€”an innovative peer-learning initiative that brought together climate leaders from 26 European and North American Country Networks and over 180 companies to exchange experiences, co-develop solutions, and accelerate decarbonization. The Climate Action Platform comes at a strategic moment. Amidst rapid regional policy changes (EU Green Deal, CSRD, CBEM, Net Zero Industry Act) and a rapidly changing geopolitical environment, the platform marks an inflection point for sustainability in Europe and North America, where collective leadership can accelerate the transition to net zero.
