The Africa Business Leaders Coalition’s new trade paper, Five Mindset Shifts to Unlock Intra-African Trade, reinforces an important message: Africa’s economic opportunity will depend not only on ambition, but on faster implementation, stronger regional coordination and greater investment in African value chains.
Developed from a range of interviews with ABLC CEOs, paper outlines five key shifts needed to help unlock intra-African trade: - Synergy, not separation, will drive Africa’s growth. - Africa can produce, not just supply. - See mobility as an opportunity, not a risk. - View infrastructure as networks, not monuments. - Africa’s time is now, not in a decade.
In Kigali, I was pleased to join business, finance and industry leaders for the launch of the paper.
Our discussions focused on how stronger collaboration across supply chains, infrastructure, financing and energy can help expand regional trade, strengthen competitiveness and turn the promise of the AfCFTA into real economic outcomes across the continent.
Thank you to all the CEOs, partners and institutions contributing to this important dialogue.

At #AfricaCEOForum, The Africa Business Leaders Coalition (ABLC), a CEO-led platform convened by the UN Global Compact, launched a new CEO Trade Perspective Paper exploring how intra-African trade can help accelerate sustainable economic growth across the continent.
The paper outlines five key mindset shifts from African CEOs needed to help unlock the full potential of the AfCFTA, from strengthening regional value chains and industrialization to advancing investment, competitiveness and job creation.
As Africa’s markets continue to grow, greater regional integration, stronger collaboration and faster implementation will be critical to building resilient economies and advancing progress on the #SDGs.

AI isn't slowing down, and neither are the human rights risks that come with it.
Algorithmic bias. Workplace surveillance. Data exploitation. Environmental costs. These aren't hypothetical. They're already happening across technology value chains.
Under the UN Guiding Principles on Business and Human Rights, every company has a responsibility to act — whether you're building AI, procuring it or deploying it.
