GLORY HOLE 10.17.25-10.19.25

Arts organizing, performing creative labor, curating, and building community AS endurance art. A true feat of strength by everyone involved, this three-day-long performance art festival was a study in making art āby any means necessary.ā Hosted in MKE at
@yours_truly_studio and in collaboration with
@saintjawncinema , over 25 artists joined me in bringing a gimmicky ā24 hours total of performance artā free of charge to whoever could attend. Many artists collaborated across performances and attended each othersā time slots. The backdrop of the show was a retrospective exhibition of my works from 2020-present, showcasing the art I had made in tandem with accessing gender affirming care.

The show posed three questions: 1. What makes artwork ātrans artāāis it content referring to the politics, anatomy, history, personhood, and thoughts of trans people by trans people, or is it simply *any* art made by a trans creator? 2. What kind of art would people make if there was no barrier to entry and there was no threat of censorship? 3. Where does laboring to create and facilitate art end and endurance-based performance art begin? These questions were explored not only by the conceptual and physically demanding qualities of the performances and art installed at the event, but by the ludicrous hours during which the event was held (6pm Friday-6am Saturday, and then picking up again 6 hours later), the moving-mountains level of effort it took me, the artists, the journalists promoting the show, and the helpers to get this show out of my brain and into opening night in exactly 22 days.

Documented by the talented
@ghost.fancier this moment passed by in the blink of an eye but the memories remain. Emily captured over 4,000 images and videos of the event in under three days and heroically edited the photos for artists to view privately (if you performed and have not gotten access to your photos, email me). Emily and I will be working on self-publishing a collection of the photos, alongside interviews with participants later this year or early 2027. This is in the early stages so hang tight!
