Entering into this new month with new changes - I am excited to reintroduce myself, I am Noelle Gex Djokovich an Interior Designer with 10 years of experience in the Interior Design industry. Recently, I have decided to take a leap and begin my own practice. With this, I am beyond excited to introduce you all to Gex Designs, formerly known as The Small Scale. Gex Designs will be a Southern California based Interior Design firm specializing in creating one-of-a-kind, timeless interior spaces and custom homes. With a background in high end residential design, I am excited to take my knowledge to my own clients and grateful for their trust in not only Gex Designs but also the process for a carefully curated home. My focus will be to emphasize to clients that it is not a sprint to the finish line, but an enjoyable and collaborative journey leading to a well designed space.

The Mudroom for the @pasadenashowcasehouse by @gexdesigns transforms a once purely functional space into an art-driven interior layered with custom cabinetry, patterned flooring, and botanical tones. With a refined nod to California’s indoor–outdoor lifestyle, practicality is elevated through materiality and disciplined design detail. The practical use of the room is highlighted in the built-in bench, stain-grade countertops, and deep brown walls. But beyond these utilitarian elements, soft café curtains, floating window shelves, and a dog nook connect the space to the interior of the house itself. A sheen wall panel ceiling installed in a V-pattern, anchored by a brass fixture at the center, weaves the practical elements of the room into a more welcoming tone.
Reimagined as a functional threshold, the space balances utility and atmosphere through cabinetry and pattern. It reads as both passage and a considered design moment embedded in daily life.
